Is there an easy way to search for your own posts and replace a string of text with another?
Basically the hosting site I use for pix has changed where they are. Instead of postimage.org they are now postimage.cc which means the picture addresses for all the pictures I've posted with them are now wrong. It would be so much easier to fix if I could somehow search for the first string in all my posts and replace it with the second. Years ago I've done that sort of thing in word docs etc. just wondering if it can be done here.
PS I may not have the exact address change but can check it once I know if I can do this. Otherwise each time I see a post with pix I just have to remember if the pix aren't showing that I probably need to edit the address to change the org bit to cc.

oh man, that rots. Just like when photobucket started holding pics for ransom. I wish I had an answer. I've been using flickr as I have a yahoo email, but now they're no longer associated and I'm waiting for flickr to tell me what something similar to postimage. I have an acct there but rarely use it.
I have close to 2000 images on facebucket and half probably don't exist anywhere else anymore.

Unless the administrators here can use a high level solution for this (ie. search and replace at the database level, or a local DNS entry to alias postimage.org with postimage.cc), I'd think you may have to resort to manually editing each of your posts.

About all you can do Thérèse is go to your own profile, click on the activity button and go back with that as far as you can.

Thanks Sherry, I had already thought of that and looked but the first few pages are all going to be photo comp stuff. Getting to the posts that may be relevant isn't going to be any quicker that way. Guess I'm stuck with just updating when I notice a missing pic or have time to scroll through those I can guess, like the carrier one, which I did the first post on to test that just changing the org to cc worked.
This is the third hosting site I've used and the third time they have created a problem. None of those was even photobucket. The use of hosting sites really isn't the handy thing to organise your pix it's supposed to be.

That is brutal! That's why I haven't posted any pictures and I have all kinds too! I can't see why these boards don't allow us to download from our own computers.

Problem is forums have to pay for amount of data used beyond a certain point. And pics take a LOT of data. So we had to make the decision to only permit certain downloads for that reason.
