Yesterday all she wanted to do was sleep, and was occasionally making nomnomnom noises and working her mouth, like she was chewing on nothing. The lethargy and the frequency of this behavior seemed to increase over time.
This morning she seems really bad. Doesn't move much and seems a bit unsteady. I'm not sure when she last ate and I don't think she's drinking enough. She's refusing treats, including fish oil.

Took her to the vet. Jasmine has an intestinal blockage. We're arranging surgery.

Oh no! Good luck! My Maisie went through blockage surgery too. Everything turned out fine, hopefully it will be the same for you. For future reference, the chewing on nothing was probably her grinding her teeth. It's a sign of pain in ferrets. Best of wishes, and please keep us updated!

I hope everything turns out fine. Double check their room to make sure there is nothing rubbery or foamy they can chew on.

daddywarbots hasn't logged in since his last message, I'm worried that maybe it didn't go well

I'm worried too now, can't mess around with blockages, a ferret can die fast and unless it's emergency treated scheduling surgery won't be fast enough if it's a full blockage.

Hi!
Jasmine is doing fine!
She had surgery, but made a good recovery. They did it immediately as an emergency procedure. She was back to wrestling with her sister less than a week later. She had swallowed a chunk of something sorta grey and squishy. We're not sure what it was or where she got it. Maybe rubber from a shoe insole?
I'm sorry I didn't give an update earlier. I was so worried and distracted at the time I forgot I'd posted here.
