And yes a mass will show on xray. It will be a cloudy spot pushing other organs out of the way.

I'm just afraid of not seeing it. With Wend...I saw it, but she rallied so many times I had this hope that it'd happen again...and it didn't, and I feel guilt over that because I knew in my heart that she was done. I don't want to make that same mistake with him. Part of the issue is I knew her SO well, and still didn't truly catch that. But him, I don't feel like I know as well. Even though it's been the same amount of time we've had him, etc etc. This is the first time in a while he's been eating well and on his own. I want to THINK it's a good sign, but...the pain...
We've gone a week without any real crashes, so there's that. Other than yesterday, and somewhat Saturday night, he's been bright eyed and like I said VERY active. Always on the move, which I do wish he'd slow down a bit since we're still trying to get that sugar under control lol.
Got weights on the girls.
Tink: 649 g Monday: 716 g

1. Ferret's name: Monday 2. Ferret's weight: 716g 3. Ferret's Daily Medications: none 4. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal: I don't know WHAT she eats! Just small amounts! She'll eat grinds if I give them over happily, she dives into some things but only for a few bites. 5. Stools on various proteins. We have lots of chicken in our menu. Poop has been a weird "straw" color almost through it. Someone had some tinges of green in their poop the other day and this morning. I'm pretty sure it was her. 6. Activity levels: Active!
1. Ferret's name: Tinker 2. Ferret's weight: 649g 3. Ferret's Daily Medications: none 4. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal. Same. What the heck do they eat?! She's always movnig her food around so I know it goes into her mouth! Except the pork, I know for a fact that quickly gets into her belly. 5. Stools on various proteins. See above, someone had funky poop but I think her mom. Except for after a grind, I want to say S&C duck? I almost wonder if it was vomit though I never SAW her vomit, but did see her in the potty a few times after. It basically looked like the S&C just partially digested, same color and consistency as it was in the bowl. Weird. 6. Activity levels: Psycho baby
Chicken: wings, ribs/spine, muscle. Pork (boneless). Goose grind (that left some funky poop, not sure I'll offer that again), boneless turkey. Kidney/liver and heart for their organs. Quail egg too!

Yes, his dad just popped in for a quick second between work sites, and he was racing all over following his footsteps until he could find him. He lost all that weight, and I think now that he can move around easily he's been zooming. Before he got super sick in May, he was 1.65kg and now he's 1.15kg. He's at his pre-pred winter weight, now. I don't think I like WHY he's been so skinny, but I' happy it allows him to run around comfortably. He's in and out of his basket (the sides are about 6 inches high) and just constantly on the go until he finally needs to go nap for about 6 hours lol

The girls sound like they are doing well And the poops would be that colour because of the chicken being the primary protein. Also- goose is high fat, and that causes funky stools lol. For them we need to get some more variety in proteins going, especially for bone in. And Peter doesn't sound nearly ready yet if you ask me!

If you saw him Sat and Tues though...He's eating like CRAZY right now. We're leaning toward pain being the route of the issue, since the increase in eating has come after consistent pain meds. He's down to 1.10 kg as of yesterday, though.

I think you are right. My attitude is if people can have improved lives through use of pain meds, why not ferrets as well?

I can get quail from Hare Today. They sell 4 per pack. How many quail should I expect to go through? Would they eat a whole one per pair? A half per pair?

Depends on the size, and how well they accept them. The only ones I can get here are really tiny, so mine went through a whole each in a day.

I just don't want him gorked out the whole time. I mean, I want him comfortable, but not a veggie LOL. He didn't get a morning dose this morning, I used the last of what I had last night, so we'll see how he does til I get to work. I'm so glad I get discounts. He's putting me in the poor house as it is!
A WHOLE quail per weasel?! Errmmm...What size ARE they, exactly? I've never seen one. Like are we talking cornish hen sized?

Peter is on second breakfast. He only ate about half of what I offered him, but whatever at least he was interested in it. So he's eaten a little more than he's BEEN eating, this morning. Not sure I'll be able to get weights on the big boys, they're a little extra crazy this morning! I need to do their nails too but not sure I'll get them to sit still!

Will they do the salmon oil on the tummy routine for nails? How are they doing for diet, are you balancing it and adding more proteins?
