Has anyone bought the pans with the higher lips or any from the site bassequipment.com ? Someone is not using the litter box when I'm not looking. I don't know who it is but they make a mountain of poo and it falls out of the cage. My boyfriend wants to go with the bassequipment one but I don't like the look of it. Any thoughts?

Have you tried a high back potty there? My youngest would not go down to first floor to potty at night. I had the potty pan on first level only--trying to give more room for sleeping. I put a high-back potty in the corner that she was poohing in and it took care of the situation. I thought if it was all flannel blankets she would not pooh on them, but she did. I haven't used shelves in so long in my cage---can't remember if they hinder a high back potty or not. The rest of the floor is baby blankets which they sleep under.

I have 3 litter boxes in the cage. Sometimes they use them... Sometimes they flip them over... I don't mind cleaning the poop it's just it's hard when it gets on the bars or falls out the cage.

Be nice if you could find a dishpan or high back plastic tray that would fit across the back. You can cut plastic with a jigsaw. I have cut marshalls potties in the front with a jigsaw---to make them lower for entry---no problem. had to buff edges with some sand paper a little so they wouldn't be rough. Also you could drill a hole in each end and use something like this to latch to bars so they can't turn it over or move it around. www.promotionalkeychains.biz/60mm-carabiner-keychain-redMaybe someone else will have a better idea. Do tell us how u finally solve the problem

I have some other brand in the cage that's pretty low. There's already 1 on each floor except 1 floor. They get them most of the time except that poo mountain behind the ramp on the first shelf. Since I can't catch who's doing it I just moved a less used corner box to that shelf and hopefully they get it. My wee guy seems to not care about corners. He just likes to go under the cage and poo and pee where ever. I removed the under the cage shelf because I read that it's dangerous. I tried putting a pillow under there and he just pooed beside it. I've never met any animals that poop as much and these guys. Lol I bought a diaper genie so I wouldn't have to carry around a plastic bag that they always attack, it's full every 3 days with paper towel and poops.

I have a huge cat pan that is 4-5" tall. I was just going to cut one side down 1" and roll over about a 1/2" for a lip... But I am on pause as I am looking at a privacy box, and may need to modify that first.

I really just need to teach them to use the boxes instead of pooping in front of it.. or behind it. Bunch of bozos. At least 1 out of 3 understand.

When mine are tired, they don't like to climb over the side, I noticed this during litter box boot camp. I now keep a blanket balled up in front to make it easier. I recommend the boot camp litter box training. It helped a lot. Has tips on box's to use as well as a few more current threads in regards to box and litter training. One reason I think Squirmy wont use the box on my floor as it is not "hidden" to his standards. I have three and I am learning that they are all different in taste. What one like the other 2 don't. The only universal thing, unrelated, is pumpkin. They go crazy for it.... Ok I guess if you give them to much pumpkin it could be related to topic.
I will not talk you out of cutting down an edge. They wake up confused, they don't need trip hazards. It looks like most store items need a ferrets touch.

I tried the blanket thing and just ended up with a lot of laundry. He pooped on 3 blankets in the same day. There's a litter box on there "sleep floor" and he uses that one. But he prefers to poop on that shelf for some reason. Maybe the litter box isn't level on the shelf? I'm still trying to find the best way to anchor the cage and floor litter boxes down so that I can easily pull them off for cleaning

Is it behind a latter? mine like that spot. I put a bowl of water there. Or another food bowl.

It's in the corner of the cage but where the ramp comes down. I put extra bedding there and it worked for 2 days but I woke up to 2 poops on a blanket. It's a lot easier to clean that way though. I just need a lot more fleece. I'm waiting for the sale that is either this month or October. I don't have to take out the plastic and scrub it so often this way. I do give them a wipe with vinegar and water everyday anyways. But at least it would be once a day. I need to get on the litter boot camp. They poo in front and behind all the litter boxes in the room. I let them complete free access to that room 24/7 so its getting to be a pain. So much poop! How do they even make that much! Hopefully this is a kit thing and they'll poo less when they eat less.
