Should the den be something in their cage? Trying to picture what size I should make it. I will start scouring the clearance racks in the storage depts. I like the idea of a plastic one (easy clean up). I will take a picture of the food with reference item when I feed them this morning. Even our lazy little cuddle bug ash runs for the hills with a bite of food and is surprisingly fast and hard to hold onto when she does. So far I just take out the food bowls and set on a counter when they are out for play time. I really like the den idea, thank you for the idea. Foster the eating instincts kicking in, I can totally do that.

The feeding den should go wherever you feed them. If they are kept caged during the day and that is where they eat, then the feeding den should be in their cage/ If you free roam and they have access to food anywhere, then it can go wherever works best. ; )

Hahaha, well the idea of free roaming and free eating went out of the window when I had to leap to catch them before they darted under my bed to stash "treats" for later.
I still want to get more ferret proofing done and alow them more free roam space during their extensive play sessions but am now thinking feeding will need to be at a set location at a set time to prevent them from trying to turn the apartment into their personal jerky factory LOL
For the first time today we had clear sustained dooking. I so love seeing them happy.

Here is a size example from this morning bone in meal. This is the largest they will eat, if I serve bigger they just look at the bowl and stare at me. Hahaha If I take the exact food that they thought was too big and take it back to the kitchen and dice it up more and put back in the bowl they gobble it up. I think I screwed up on the feeding den suggested for the fur babies as they are reacting more instinctually to feeding with the raw diet. I went and took measurements of the cages top shelf that isn't used much with the intent to find a storage box that would fill it. I came home with one a little too small. I cut an enterance hole in one side, smoothed the edges and put in place. I must have measured wrong because it is smaller than I expected. The babies have not only switched from eating out of the bowl together and started grabbing a peice to eat or stash somewhere else but also now eat at different times completely.
After digging for some thread topics today I guess they are each supposed to have their own feeding den. For the 1st 24 hours today they all are enjoying it and it seems to be working out because they don't eat at the same time there hasn't been any competition over the den.
I do wonder if it might still be a good idea to get 2 more so they each have their own? Just to head off any possible competition in the future.

On the menu....
So far to my surprise they instantly dug into and seem to really enjoy the bone in meals. The organ meal I had to rub a nose on it and then they really dug in on it too.
The only thing they haven't seem to be too interested in is the meat only meal. The bone in meal this morning was a big hit again. I will keep an eye out and keep you posted.

If they are having some issues eating boneless meals, try serving those in larger chunks so they have to work at them.

If they are having some issues eating boneless meals, try serving those in larger chunks so they have to work at them. Will do on next prep day I am going to reduce the amount a little bit too. On meals they love, bone in and heart meals they eat about 80% and stash 10%. Other meals they are eating about 50% and stashing about 5%. Planning on reducing meal size by about 10% to make sure that they are hungrier for the other meals.
