Lady Aphrodite would like to announce the birth of her wee meepers on June 4th. There are 7 wee meepers, genders are yet unknown. I have a nasty upper respiratory so she's been looking after the wee ones basically on her own. She's an awesome momma. She moves her nest about every two days so that I can clean the bedding. 1 Week 2 weeks ciao

Aaaaaaah so cute!! Congrats to you and Lady Aphrodite! At what age will you be able to tell their genders? And will you be keeping all the kits? Oh, and who's the daddy?

Genders....I should by now but I've not handled the kits or Lady DeeDee for that matter any more than I have to (I've not handled the kits at all). I may have a cold but it could be so many other things and I do not want to pass the virus on. Introductions are indeed necessary and I've been very remiss. Lady Aphrodite aka DeeDee and Master Mayhem ciao

Hehe, Master Mayhem looks quite proud of himself. So neat to see how quickly the little ones start growing their coats... thanks for sharing those!

Mayhem is a self centered, self serving sod and very typical hob and I love him to pieces. Both parents are adorable and very sweet. Mayhem is a total teddy bear and loves snuggles. ciao

Smug sod or not, he is most definitely one h*ll of a handsome ferret. I caught myself looking at his picture several times today, haha. I'm sure these babies will be gorgeous little ferrets too.

They look more and more like ferrets each day. They've gone from looking like little sausages to little furry sausages and I noticed today, they're developing faces. In a couple of weeks they will have eyes ciao

Please keep us updated with photos when you are feeling better again. It's wonderful to see these wee babies develop in little fuzzbutts.

They are so cute, amazing nature! Sometimes I am thinking that having barren my ferret I lost the chance to admire her in the role of mother.

The mom's are not pleasant companions while they've got kits. Lady Aphrodite only tolerates me at the moment. Allowing a jill to "just" have a litter is really not worth the hassle, the cost or possible risks. If you're looking for a sweet bonding time with your jill, when they've got a litter is not one of those times. I've had more than a few nips from DeeDee to remind me I've overstayed my welcome. Lady Lola turned into a card carrying daemon with horns when she had her litter on the ground. She was 2 lbs of pure hate and nastiness. The only way I could get near her litter was to allow her to go play and tease the rest of the ferrets. If I made those babies squeak she was back in a flash of fury and teeth ciao
