Ive been looking ALL day trying to find a place that sells hearts. Ive tried Kroger, Albertsons, Walmart, 2 Asian stores. The website I am planning to order all their food on has hearts, but I do not want to order any meat online until they are out of the soup stage. I know I can use human grade taurine supplements. How much am I supposed to put in each soup I make? I follow the basic soup recipe. 8oz chicken meat
1 oz heart (~1-2 chicken hearts)
1 oz liver (~1/2 chicken liver)
1/2-3/4 tsp powdered eggshell
So how much of the taurine supplement do I add? Thanks!!!

Try a Winco Foods if there's one near where you live, they will usually have packs of all hearts too. And it can be any kind of heart, doesn't need to be just chicken either. You can use beef, pork, duck, turkey, etc. You can also use beef tongue in place of hearts when you have troubles finding it. The Beef Tongue would be better still than the Taurine Powder.
Taurine Powder should only be used as a temporary solution though, while you continue to try and find hearts.
Daily Supplement of Taurine Powder Per Ferret is: 500mg total per day = 250mg with the AM meal and 250mg with the PM meal. It's split into 2 times a day, since ferrets would just urinate out the excess taurine instead of absorbing it all.

I had no idea I even had a Winco near me, considering I've only heard of it once before!! Im glad I found one because everything is so low priced even though they dont carry hearts at the one near me :-( I looked and asked. Nothing blah. I read that its only for the Northwest Pacific or something. BUT I am on my way to Fiesta Mart to get some beef heart :-) FINALLY
