I may not be as active as I was hoping for the next couple of days. I've gotten really sick. (I think stress has been a major contributor.) I will do my best to check in often.

hey katt & @machan, hope you feel better soon! stress is a b*tch. so here are the weights of everyone this week - 1. Ferret's name: Jasper 2. Ferret's weight: 900g 3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal: he's eating consistantly by his own out the bowl again, i'm going to start weighing what i'm giving them so find out how mugh their eating each meal 4. Stools on various proteins: poops are looking good, he's just on chicken atm 5. Activity levels: slightly increased 6. Weekly menu: nutriment chicken ground raw 1. Ferret's name: Ellie 2. Ferret's weight: 663g 3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal: she's eating the best out of the 3, she's a little ganit 4. Stools on various proteins: again, looking good 5. Activity levels: normal 6. Weekly menu: same as above 1. Ferret's name:Frankie 2. Ferret's weight:1.3kg 3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal: he's been doing ok, but the past 2 days has gone back to eating from a spoon 4. Stools on various proteins. a little loose 5. Activity levels: normal (he is the most active of all 3 & does a considerable amount of running around like a crazy ferret) 6. Weekly menu: same as above i tried them with the slithers of meat (chicken) i dont think i cut them up small enough & i should have taken pictures but for an idea one peice was around the size of a maggot. the all had a few pieces, they all took willingly. but likkle Franklin loved it! he ate most of it. there was only around 70 - 100g but he licked the bowl clean! next week i'm going to start looking at menus & get some meat in for them. i'm only waiting as my hours are a bit rubbish this week (i'm working till midnight tonight) & i'm on holiday for another 2 weeks from friday. i'm also goping to get them booked in to the vet that was recomended to me for a week on friday for a good check up & everyone can have a bg test. i think frank is a bit young but i want to make sure he's ok too. i'm going to post the pics on a seperate post as my internet connection has been terrible for the past few day & i don't want to loose this

If they ate the slivers then the size you cut them in was perfect! The next meal, mix a few more slivers into their meat and let us know how they do! Do you have heart and liver on hand by chance? If not, try to get some. I find it helpful for some ferrets to start mixing in some heart and liver slivers early on too while there is enough other stuff (grinds, soup, etc) to disguise them a bit and start getting them used to eating hearts and organs.

Sorry for my late reply again haha. I feel much better today. I've been on antibiotics and boosting my immune system however I can. Congrats on the slithers! The point is simply cut them to a good size. Small as you can get is actually really good. I noticed ferrets are more willing when they are small in size and less likely to stash them. Keep it up, and gradually you can increase the slither size until they are eating a nice sized chunk. I agree with Katt, definitely look into getting some heart and liver. Good luck with the vet appointment. Even if Franklin is young, it is fantastic that you're having him checked out. It never hurts and is a great precautionary thing because we never know if something may be going on even if they are young. Have a great holiday!

Sorry I've not been online for the past few days, my phone line & broadband have been down & my mobile data reset yesterday.
Everyone's doing ok. Not eating brilliantly, they need a bit of coaxing but after a few mins of trying all 3 eat freely out the bowl. But only one at a time I've noticed, there's no aggression or anything but never more than one ferret eats from the bowl at a time anymore, in the days of kibble they'd all eat together. I guess it's just a transition thing. It's not really causing a problem.
I've got an engineer coming out tomorrow to fix the lines so I'll post the weights afterwards & hopefully this time some pics.

No worries. Good luck with your lines being fixed. Having phone and internet troubles can be so troublesome. Keep trying with the coaxing. When you do it frequently whenever possible, I find it helps as they get more used to the process. They'll improve with their eating. Keep doing your best. ^_^ I find that raw fed ferrets tend to eat differently when compared to kibble fed ferrets. At least from what I've noticed at least. I rarely find my own eating all at the same time (I have 5) I found that mine tend to graze here and there, little bits at a time.

If they are now 100% on the grinds, you can start introducing more proteins if you would like. (It actually wouldn't hurt regardless.) I really recommend looking into grabbing some chicken thighs and try some slivers of meat. Pork is also a great choice too if you can find it in store as a muscle fillet or steak. ^_^ Everyone is looking so great! I'm loving how soft their fur is looking in their recent pics. Jasper has a gorgeous coloured coat and Frankie has really cute eyes. Are they shedding out their old coats yet? (It's almost winter in Aus and mine are beginning to shed like crazy.)

We started with slither last night after my last post. Frank was stealing them off the plate almost as fast as I was cutting them (with scissors, he was safe) Jasper seems a bit reluctant but it's gone ok so far. I've got some turkey commercial raw for them as the store didn't have enough chicken. I'll start getting in some other meats for them.
They're not shedding too badly, were just coming into spring here. The dogs only just beginning to shed his coat so another week & I should start noticing it more

Koda is really late on his shed this spring for some reason. Let us know when you pick up some meat of andifferent protein to try slivers with.
