Hi I'm Marietta and I would like to apply for the mentoring program soon but I have some questions first about getting prepared to apply. I know I need a scale does anyone have suggestions on what to get? Also do you use the same scale for weighing food and the ferret? I am also looking for food processor suggestions since I am guessing this requires grinding up bone. I have a ninja blender and was wondering if that would be good?
I would also like to try and get a jump start on the soup as soon as I can get all the supplies together so I was wondering in the soup recipe is that for one meal or is that enough for multiple meals?
Also how would you suggest getting enough posts to qualify for the mentor program?

For a scale, just pick up an inexpensive kitchen digital scale that goes up to 5lbs. And you won't need to grind bone, they will be eating whole raw bones themselves For the soup, it will last a few meals to begin with as they will have to be convinced to eat it. It won't for long though.

Looks fine. But do you eat eggs? If so, just rinse the shells, let dry a day or two, then grind to a powder. Does the exact same thing, and saves you money

I'm looking for places online that I can order different proteins and organs and such needed for raw feeding since I am not sure if there is anywhere near by that I can get what I need. I saw someone talking about Hare Today. Would you say that is a good site to get everything from?

Hare Today is a good one yes. You can also try My Pet Carnivore.
If you have any Asian grocery stores near you locally, those will usually also have some good meats for ferrets, and at very afforable prices. You'll usually be able to easily get packages of hearts, livers, quail, rabbit, frog's legs, etc. from them. Chicken, beef, turkey, and pork should easily be available from any grocery store. Just check that the pork, or any of the meats, do not contain added things like salt, which is common to tenderize some meats. It should say on the label or in the ingredients. And be ware that the packages of hearts and gizzards in the store are pretty much always a rip off, they really cheat you with the hearts in those packages, as it's mostly just gizzards.

I'm having a really hard time finding a place like that unfortunately. I did just hear about a asian grocery store a little bit north of me that I am going to go checkout sometime this weekend and hopefully start making soup. Otherwise I may have to order stuff online. If you can make the drive for it, sometimes it's worth just grabbing a bunch of the items, even if you need to save it up for later. Any kind of ethnic store could be helpful. So if you have any Mexican stores or the like too, you might find something there, though I have had better luck with Asian markets myself.

The Asian market north of me had a bunch of stuff! Glad to have found a good place. Going to start with soup today. Here is hoping they take to it well.

That's wonderful! Glad to hear you found a place to get your raw goodies at. Let us know how it goes with the soup!

Made a little progress! I have a syringe that goes up to 2ml and put some soup in it. Albie ate about a syringe full after I scruffed and stuffed once. Gwin I have scruffed and stuffed two or three times and he won't eat it. So Gwin will be tougher which I expected. I'm excited that Albie is receptive!

Try some "Grab 'n Dab" with Gwin. You can do this either in a session of say 20-30 minutes, or just throughout the day, whichever fits your schedule better. Whenever Gwin runs by you, grab, and smear a little bit on the gums and then just let him go, if you do the timed session try for a dab every 5 minutes. Albie is doing good, let's hope it continues.

Would you recommend warming up the soup after taking it out of the fridge?
