Two problems with that. The original chart is for someone supplementing with, or feeding, kibble. And fish is definitely a great part of a varied diet. Edited to add "a FEW problems" The TYPES of kibbles need to be listed. The proteins that can be used are MUCH more varied- basically anything you can name a raw meat is great, along with whole prey. Best if the entire egg is fed, instead of just the yolk.

I used that second food chart to make a decision on what food to purchase. I put off getting ferrets until I had the food issue resolved in my head. It was a lot to take in and NONE of the pet stores around here carry anything like that so I had to order on-line. Thankfully I am an amazon prime member so they ship for free. I mix two foods, the Wyson Epigen 90 digestive health and the other one is the Dr. Foster and Smith brand ferret food. The pet store was feeding them the Marshall's brand so I slowly mixed in the new mix of food and within a few days they were pushing the Marshall's out of their bowl. They love the new kibble. I still cannot get them to eat a treat. I purchased the Orijen freeze dried treats and they just refuse to take it. I put a few small pieces into their food so maybe they will start to understand it is to eat.
If they don't like those, the dog sure likes them!

I wouldn't use the Dr. Smith and Foster food. It's really not good for them. :/

@dzlb32 with the freeze dried treats, crumble them up to a powder and mix in the kibble. That way they have to keep tasting it and will start eating it.

Thanks Sherry, that is what I have been doing. How long do you think before they take it from me? Probably hard to say I guess.

It will all depend on them. Once they are eating it crumbled up and mixed in with meals, put in small pieces well mixed in. If they eat it like that then they will take it as treats.
