I had a ferret that could open drawers (and also even close them behind himself). I had to put child locks on my drawers (something I thought I had got beyond not having had any children myself). It was only that ferret that did it and my drawers are once again without the child locks.
Aren't ferrets fun???

It was only that ferret that did it and my drawers are once again without the child locks. Aren't ferrets fun??? Do ferrets not normally open drawers? All our girls (except Nala) could do it so I assumed it was a normal trait. Lilith is great at opening drawers. We've got a chest of drawers for clothes in my sister's room (where the ferrets live), they've sort of taken over the bottom drawer as there's. But sometimes when Lilith feels up to it, she'll go around the back and then start climbing up, she can even open the drawers from inside. Her goal is the underwear drawer or the bra/sock drawer, she loves those things the little pervert. She's actually stolen a pair or two for her nest. My sister was FURIOUS. Pixel was a climber, that's actually how she escaped her old cage when someone left the top hatch unlocked. She monkey barred her way up and snuck out. Also made a homemade 'ferret/baby' fence useless when she figured out how to climb over it. I need the long thing stuff they make cages out of but can only find the chicken wire.

I don't get some vet's unwillingness to use des. When willows regularly came in at 30 the adrenal treatment actually helped stabilize her. For others who (reasonably ) were stable on pred the design helped a lot as well. There is just no valid reason for a vet to not want to use it.

He's 6 months on Saturday, and still 3 lb 7 oz of unbridled energy. Bt he's doing better with the others every day. He only gets time out once a day max for picking on the others . Seems he's learning to tone down his play. He's seen here in the leaf pool today

Scamp has toned down to 2 3/4 lb of pure muscle. He has been able to open a pantry door with a magnetic latch that he never could before. He jumps onto the sofa and climbs onto our bed with no effort. I don't know if it has anything to do with Pandy leaving us, but today Scamp has suddenly come to desire the company of his peers. Today I let him out for an hour and when I stopped hearing him running around, I found him sleeping with 4 of them in the hammock in the cage. Later, after everyone had soup, I found him sleeping in a closet with Lola and Yoshi, his erstwhile targets. A half our earlier, he was pulling Yoshi away from soups by the ear. I hope this is the beginning of friendship, but they are all 4 years older than Scamp. IMG_2815 by unclejoe1158, on Flickr

This collapsible rubber measuring cup once safely resided in a lidded gallon bucket inside a pantry with a magnetic door latch. It was found under the couch with our hero happily gnawing away IMG_5181 by unclejoe1158, on Flickr

We bought small trash cans for the bathrooms that have pedal activated lids, specifically to keep ferrets from scattering trash all over. Scam has figured out how to get in them so we're back to putting them on the toilet...

unclejoe Same here.. my little buggers even work together, one gets on the pedal, the other hops inside. Trash cans for the bathroom sit on the sink counters or inside the tubs. It's gotten to the point that hubby and I think we may need to use full-sized kitchen trash bins to curb the issue. Athena also likes using normal wastebaskets to jump on and get onto the toilet and its tank to help her onto the bathroom counters... Wee little monsters they are, but we love them.
