Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this is a medical issue so if it isn't please feel free to move the thread.
My 8mo ferret Tommen has been shaking vigorously when he wakes up. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. He does it for about 2 or 3 minutes and then he's fine. And it's only when he wakes up. He looks and acts very healthy, he eats about 2.5-2.7 oz a day. It just worries me because Oberyn, my other ferret doesn't shake when he wakes up. Is this a normal thing or should I ask the vet about it? He has a vet appointment in 2 weeks to get his rabies vac.
Thanks in advance!

It is normal, mine do it, too. Was told they r just raising their temperature as it drops when they r asleep.

Oh that's good to hear! I was worried because my other ferret doesn't do it all. Thanks!

Yup! 100% completely normal. As abbeytheferret6 stated, when ferrets sleep their temperatures tend to drop quite a bit. Then once they wake up the shiver for a few minutes until the movement warms them back up again (they have pretty high body temperatures when they're awake).
My boy Ziggy doesn't do it at all and my girl Mocha does it a little, sometime. But my tiny girl Nova? She's like a little hummingbird! If you hold her on her back her paws vibrate so quickly they're almost a blur <3
