Thats awesome! Slow and steady is the way to go cats can be so finicky. I foster kittens and right now I have a 5 week old who wont eat anything different. Even if I mix a different kind of formula into the canned food he snubs it.

Just wanted to post a quick update: she's up to a tiny bit less than a 50/50 mix of canned and raw, and she's eating great! Expecting some steps backwards with the move, but I should still reach my goal of having her on raw fully within 3ish weeks.

Still on the 50/50 mix, but only because I don't want to go too fast and I've had an insanely busy week. When I went to make her food a few days ago, she decided to try a few bites of the raw before I mixed it with the canned. The canned was sitting not an inch away, too, so there's no doubt that she likes it better! Just needs to get used to eating it in higher quantities.
On that note, too, she's been eating more at once lately. I think that since she's more adjusted now to eating wet food, she's willing to mow more down at once. I've also been keeping the amount of canned that I give her the same while I increase the amount of raw, so she's slowly being offered more without realizing it.

I'll definitely need to go shopping for stuff to make my own mix in a week or two. Going through the Rad Cat faster than I had thought I would, and already a good chunk through my second tub.

I think I might have just been a paranoid parent, lol. I've also been going nice and slow so she's had plenty of time to adjust. I was gone for the weekend and the people I asked to feed her said that she ate really well. Usually she doesn't eat much when I'm gone, but she's obviously coming along! I've got my finals for school this week and am moving on Saturday, just as a reminder. I might not be on the site much to update until afterwards

Finally got all moved in and I think that my life is (hopefully) starting to settle again. Kitty is adjusting well to the apartment, and is being introduced to the new cat (Kiki, roommate's) over the course of the next week. I will be buying my last tub of Rad Cat and all of the stuff to start making soupies tomorrow (Monday). Hoping I find everything at the asian market!!
I found the recipe for the soupie on the forum. You said 3/4 of the suggested ferret calcium amount, so a little less than 1/2 tsp of bone meal for a regular sized batch?

Got all of my stuff and made up a batch today, except that I was wrong when I thought I could pull it off without a blender, lol. I'll have to find a cheap one somewhere. I ended up making 5 batches of the recipe listed on the site, and used about 2 tsp of ground egg shell for the whole thing. The minimum amount for a ferret recipe would be 2.5 tsp for that many batches, so hopefully that's about right? Also, about how much should she be eating of the soupie every day, if she's around 6 years old and weighs 10lbs? Unrelated, but I just wanted a third opinion: my roommate mentioned when I was talking about feeding whole prey that bone is bad for cats. They said that it can tear a hole in their stomach lining. I remember reading somewhere that uncooked bone is much more pliable and easier to chew, though, so would that still be a problem? Last thing for this update, I promise. Kemuri is getting taken to the vet tomorrow for rabies shot and to have a chat with the doc, so I'll let you know about any updates like weight/unforseen health problems/etc

Checkup went great! Kemuri is at 10.6lbs, which I should think is about where she'll stay, since she's been on wet food for a while. I asked about how much she should be eating on a raw diet, and he just told me to keep an eye on her weight. I'm going to start out at about 5.5 ounces per day and see where that gets me.
I think I'll be able to get to my grandma's to use her blender, since I guess it needs to be a pretty good one and I don't particularly want to put that much money towards something that I won't use all that often.

Ahh sorry! Ive been taking care of my grandma (she just had surgery) the past couple days and its been hectic. Cooked bone could absolutely hurt a cat, but raw they are easily digested. Especially small whole prey bones! Mice are tiny For the calcium just keep an eye on her stools. If they are looking too soft then add a little more powder to the mix. You usually feed close to 2% of their body weight, but like your vet said just keep an eye on her weight. She should theoretically have to eat less raw than canned. A blender makes things 1000% easier so I hope you can get ahold of your grandmas!

Pretty dang good! I ran out of rad cat on Friday but managed to stretch it and fill some meals with canned until yesterday. I'm a little tapped on cash right now from moving, so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get Kemuri any raw for a week or so, but my grandma bought me a blender! It's some model from the Ninja line, but it works really well. I made up enough meals for about two weeks from my 5 bathes of soupies (mixing canned in with it to gradually get her on raw). It feels like a bit of a step back because I should be transitioning her from rad cat, instead of canned, but I think it should be ok. She's gotten enough of a taste of raw that it should be much easier getting her on the homemade diet now than if I hadn't used rad cat at all. I think I made enough transition meals that she should be fully on homemade raw in a little over a week.
