I've given up on bowls and everything just goes on the top level of the cages floor. It gets cleaned daily but even if I put the meat or bone in pieces in the bowl they just take them out anyway! So maybe try chopping the soup recipe into pieces the size of mince and see if the will just eat that.

No, they need the liver. You can however do half and half, so 1/2oz liver and a 1/2oz kidney. Hope it goes well! Oh and don't forget to still use eggshell powder in it until we get them ready for bones

we are! we add 1 teaspoon to each batch of soupie. We found a way to get Minnie to eat more chunks since she usually only eats one or two chunks a meal. I ran the chunks under hot water dipped in the soupie and she ate like 20 small chunks. Binxi prefers the chunks over the soupie now.

That is great! You are making good progress! Funny how they all like things a little differently.

Now that you know Minnie's weakness, how have the last couple of days gone?

she has days where she takes it and sometimes she doesn't take it, i'm going to try and just cut up all the ingredients for the soup and give it to them tomorrow morning.

Binxi ate a very tiny bit of liver plain that's it and a few pieces of gizzard. Minnie would lick my fingers and then take the meat and would put it down but she refuses to eat chunks again. Once we find a method and she eats the chunks the next go around she refuses to eat them again. I even gave them a small amount of dinner last night about 1 oz. and binxi ate pretty much all of it and Minnie still refuses the chunks and waits for the soup.

I think it is time for some tough love with Minnie. "No soup for you!" Seriously though I think you may need to out wait her. If she eats the chunks I do not think she will starve herself to death. In the wild ferrets do not always catch something every day so it will not harm a healthy ferret if you only offer the chunks for a day and see how it goes.

The soup recipe, just chopped small instead of blended into a soup.

how many ounces a day should they be eating?

Males eat an average of 2-5oz and females an average of 1-3oz a day. If they are eating all you have given them before the next meal time you can give them a little more until they are leaving just a little bit or finishing it just before the next meal time. This is part of the reason why we say weighing what you give them and then what is left is important. It helps you to know how much they are eating and cuts down on your waste.
