Bonbon and Benji's unofficial raw transitioning thread

So i have been keeping track of Bonbon's progress since September 14th, when i first started transitioning him to a raw diet. As of now (11/16/15) He is eat four different proteins and he was introduced to Duck on 11/13/15.
Proteins that he eats are as followed, Chicken, Cornish hen, quail, and duck.  

His recent weights were 10/25/15 - 2lbs. 2oz 11/1/15- 2lbs. 4oz 11/8/15 - 2lbs. 5oz 11/15/15 - 2lbs 6 oz

I have been trying to weigh him every Sunday.



Organs have been have been hard to come by as of late with the recent avian flu, but i think i will be ordering online from now on. I am currently looking at online websites now, to order some hearts as those are the most scarce organ that I need. Is there anything I can do to substitute until the online order arrives?



His menu as of right now:



Sun: AM bone in protein, PM bone in protein

Mon: AM bone in protein, PM organ

Tues: AM bone in protein, PM muscle

Wed: AM muscle, ( afternoon raw egg) , PM bone in protein/organ

Thurs: AM bone in protein, PM bone in protein

Fri: AM muscle, PM organ

Sat: AM bone in protein, PM bone in protein







Benji is a new member to the family as of today 11/16/15 and i will be switching him to a raw diet as well, but i think he is around 4-5 months of age if not 6. He's about the same size as Bonbon now possibly a little bigger and i worry he may be bonded to marshalls ferret kibble food. I didnt pick any up as i hope that he will take to raw like Bonbon did, if he doesnt eat anything i will purchase a small bag just so he isnt eating nothing. But i will also pick stuff up to make soupie which i never made for bonbon since he took to whole raw foods right away, but i suppouse it would be good to have on hand.

Today i looked in Benji's litter box and noticed that there was some green poop, but because i know the poop can look weird when detoxing from kibble to raw i tried the chicken again but he refuses it. Since Bonbon was scheduled for duck meat bone in tonight i decided to try Duck with Benji and he seemed to enjoy Duck and thus i put about 2 oz in his half of the cage with him. I plan to check in an hour or two to see how he is doing with the food.
I wonder if he is allergic to chicken or really just hates the taste of it?

Today is pretty exciting, Benji at 2.2oz of Duck muscle meat this morning then him and Bonbons split two raw eggs. And I put 2.4oz of duck(wing) bone in meat in the cage with him for his pm meal. Bones were cut into slivers and smashed with a hammer for easy eating. I didn't even have to introduce him, he dug right in. ^.^

Benji has several different colored poops, dark green, black, brownish yellow, dark bron/black. I don't know if it's just him detoxing or not. I haven't seen any yellow yet from the egg that he ate today. Anyways here's my link to my dropbox folder where you can see the two poop images.

He also had a slight prolapse but it went back in within 5 mins is there anything I can do for that? Or to prevent it?

Benji is doing good he now is eating bone in duck and chicken, as well as muscle duck and chicken. He refused his organs the first time and I will be trying again a little with him tomorrow.

He's eating about 4oz of food a day, and he's been doing good eating it himself.

you can make organ soupies. Warm up plate a little while in microwave----not real hot, and then pour soupie in plate and stir around. Then finger feed for a few tastes.

Plate seems to get hotter faster with a little water on it.
