Good Morning from Tennessee.
Sweet on our quiz, thanks for giving to me. So why then on the soupie do we only give 1 oz of liver, I know we are building him up and maybe that is why since that one batch of soupie has lasted almost 1 week.
Since the soupie recipe can be their main meal for awhile until they move to Frankenprey, we keep the liver amounts down. The idea is that hopefully they won't be on soupie too long and will move on to other animal sources.
You could make the soupie using all pork with pork heart and pork liver to get them use to another flavor or even beef with beef liver and heart since Gomez enjoys beef.
I suspect Gomez will move quickly past the soupie stage. He's eating so well.
We have some older ferrets who are very stubborn and I've mentored two who took close to a year.
I just think you should be our mentor - probably can't as you are high up on admin.
I would like that however for fairness sake, we take Mentees in the order in which they request a Mentor. Otherwise, everyone would want the simple switches like those with babies and the difficult ones who have five or six older ferrets with illnesses might fall by the wayside.
I have 3 Mentees now and 2 Mentors in Training who are working with me on their first switches.
We pair a Mentor with a Mentor in Training for their first switch. Once they graduate their first Mentee then they can take a Mentee alone. They become a full Mentor after one year and or 3 graduates.
Another thing about Mr. Gomez since we picked him up he scratches alot. No fleas but there was a small patch with like flea dander so might have had them before. We bathed him when we got home but the last 2 weeks he continues to scratch. We have given him salmon oil, same one you use. Could it be an allergic to the kibble? I have read on here and our fb site about chicken allergies but don't think it is that
Ferrets are itchy creatures. Have you ever watched Gomez suddenly stop in the middle of play to itch?
It seems like the more excited they get, the more they itch.
Adrenal ferrets itch alot but Gomez is too young to worry about that.
Chicken allergies or intolerances usually show up in poops. It's a common intolerance so we watch menus to make sure they are not too heavy in chicken.
If he is scratching alot in that one one spot where he did have flea bites, I'd comb through him and make sure there are no more fleas. You don't want to bath him alot because that can strip his skin of natural oils and make him more itchy.
Itching is a common question from new ferrents. Here is a thread where someone else was also asking:

Have a great day in New Hampshire. That's one of my favorite states. It is just so beautiful there.
