Wow, they are simply beautiful. Wonderful pictures. I know you've seen the Bristol chart and also the angora.uk page. Here is a good chart below. Ferrets have colors and then patterns. You may already know this, so excuse me if I give you info that you know. Ferret colors change in the Winter. When it gets cold, their undercoats show. Undercoats are primarily white or cream, so as their fur thickens, we see more of the undercoat and less of their patterns. In the Spring, they lose their winter coat and then we see more pattern. My Roamy for example has a mask like Koda and it slips into a V shape. Your Kenai looks like a cinnamon and that is rare and much sought after, over here. Those baby pictures are adorable. You're fortunate to have seen them, when they were so very young. This AFA info guide is informative but doesn't have any pictures: www.ferret.org/events/colors/colorchart.htmlSherry is best at this, and there are different names in different countries. Maybe this chart will be more helpful. Sherry Can you give us a definitive answer?

I know that as they mature their coats alter quite a lot, and yes I am so glad to have the baby photos of them growing and changing, actually have them printed and in a pet album now to treasure them need some framed I think also ehe, their coats have always baffled me as I thought Koda would stay a milk mouth but he has his mums pattern of the two white markings between the ear and eye, but faint white hairs on the forehead so it isn't a full mask..? Peculiar coats, I find it amazing all the variations, brings me back to last year researching hamster coat colours and types and patterns ahaha

Here is a really fun thread on color changes. Some ferrents have seen some amazing color changes. I wish Faeryn still had her pictures on the forum. Faeryn had the most drastic color changes and was the first ferret who I learned about color changes from. holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/641

I hope Koda stays dark though, and I hope Kenai continues to go more and more or a rusty red/light brown colour on his dark areas

Sable and chocolate sable. What a crime that they were removed from mum's care so early. Obviously not a reputable breeder for future reference. Yes they were weaned, but they still continue learning from mum until at least 10-12 weeks. Being removed so early is no different than the horrid ferret mills we have here in North America

And for future reference? If a so called "breeder" suggests you take the kits before 10 weeks at the earliest- look elsewhere. They certainly don't have the well being of the animals in mind!

Yeah, I was really disappointed when he asked if I wanted them so early, quite shocked as he was so knowledgable etc... I'm guessing Kenai is the sable and Koda is the chocolate sable...? What are their pattern scheme if I may ask? Sorry if I'm such a pain.. Ahaha

Also I know tha another ferret owner (not on this forum but local) saw these photos and said Kenai looks like a sandy, and Koda was a dark...? (Don't know if these are UK terms or something?)

Now THAT is CUTENESS overload! That hammock pic makes me want another baby, but we still have 7. A lot of the time when they were here with me for the first week they would explore so much until they fell asleep while exploring! You'd have to pick them up off the grass and they would be fast asleep and they still make the little kit whining noise when they stretch when fast asleep it just melts my heart! Ps I made their hammocks, the colourful ones

In some pics he does look champagne(sandy in the UK), but his back isn't light enough to me, anyway. As for coat pattern, masked.
