Should we be supplementing with some taurine capsules a few times a week? Is there any reversal for this? What are those? Also i see you live quite close to me! What vet do you go to? How far away is it from you? I wanna look at different vets but no one i know in my area has ferrets so i no one can give me reccomendations. I go to Nashville. Honestly, I don't really care for my vet. His name is Brandon Dixon at the Volunteer Veterinary clinic. He doesn't approve of raw feeding or my free roam ferrets. The next time that we go, I'm going to see Gina's vet. gfountain sees a vet that she loves and she is south of me. I tagged her for you. Our Wynstan came from the Petco in Hendersonville. Our Roamy and Juliet lived in Mt. Juliet before we brought them home. Are you south or north of Lafayette? Have you been to K&S World Market in Nashville? There are two locations and it's a terrific store to buy organs and other proteins. I haven't found any stores up in Bowling Green, except for one small market. I buy my quail there.

@theferretfamily
You were talking about her menu:
Her weekly diet consists of Livers, gizzards, hards minced beef. we also cut chicken off the bone. I dont really have an order, i just go but a ton of it then i start with liver and go on to the next food. If that makes any sense :PI cant get a picture right now but as soon as i can i will post it!
If you don't mind my making a few suggestions, she needs a little more balance in her menu. Frankenprey is what we call a menu plan that is made up of foods from local grocery stores. It's designed to mimic eating Whole Prey. The important thing about it is that when you follow it, they get a fully balanced and nutritionally complete menu. That gives them Taurine, their Vitamins, nutrients from bone, all of which are needed to ensure good health.
Livers have Vitamin A in them. However Vitamin A builds up in their system, so liver needs to be limited. Gizzards are simply wonderful. Beef is full of Iron and Vitamin B. Chicken is a good food but cut off the bone, means they are eating a muscle meat and not getting any bone.
What you are lacking in their meals is Taurine, which is found in Heart, tongue and any muscle meats. It is essential for Ferrets. Without it, they can go blind or develop many other problems.
I'll show you a basic menu plan and explain a little about it:
Monday: a.m. Bone In Quail This can be found in any good Asian Market, like K&S in Nashville. It's a great beginner bone. They need bone for Calcium and other nutrients. p.m. Muscle meat meal beef puree w/egg Tues: a.m. Bone In meal CGH Cornish Game hen p.m. Muscle meat meal pork butt Fat equals energy for ferrets. It's also good for their skin.
Wed: a.m. Bone In meal chicken wings p.m. Hearts muscle meat Duck hearts, chicken heart, pork heart are great choices and inexpensive.
Thurs: a.m. Bone In Cornish Game Hen p.m. Organ Meal half liver/half kidney, brains etc.
Liver needs to be five percent of how much they eat in one week. Organs are secreting organs and the Other Organ can be kidney/spleen/thymus/brains or pancreas. Heart is not an organ but a Muscle meat
Fri: a.m. Bone In chicken wings p.m Bone In chicken wings Other Bone In meals can be quail, cornish game hens, turkey wing tips, duck, rabbit.
Sat: a.m. Bone In meal CGH p.m. Muscle Meat gizzards Sun: a.m. Organ meal of 1/4 Liver plus another 1/4 Organ and a half meal of Hearts
p.m. Bone In meal wings/rabbit/quail/cornish game hen [/b]
The idea is to have: 7-9 meals of Bone In 3-4 meals of Muscle Meat, one of which must be Heart for Taurine. 1 Organ meal of Liver plus another Organ 1 meal of Liver plus another Organ.
It's nice to have an egg a week also. That will give the all important Omega 3/6's and help with excess fur from grooming. Think of it as like a hairball in cat's.
If you follow this, your little one will have a nice healthy diet that is nutritionally correct. Those all important vitamins and minerals will save you on Vet bills down the road.
I hope this helps. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. :wave3:

Should we be supplementing with some taurine capsules a few times a week? Is there any reversal for this? No, a Properly Balanced raw diet provides plenty of taurine. If you have a ferret with heart problems or who is from a line that carries heart problems it wouldn't hurt to add extra taurine but in all honesty you are probably not going to prevent or reverse the problem. :/

I made few suggestions to help balance it.
