Yes, glad you got yourself a little one. My baby took to chicken wings right from start. Cut of knuckles. U can save the drumette for yourself and feed mid section and tips. My baby may have been 3 or 4 weeks older than urs, though. Mine hissed and jumped at me when she thought I was going to take her find. They r sooo cute when they do that! I bought a quartered fryer but I haven't prepared it yet. I wrapped up about 20 day servings of sirloin, 15 days of chicken breast and 15 supplemental servings of chicken liver. She just did 2 things that amused me: First was that as soon as she woke up, she grabbed one of her plastic balls and played with it for awhile then took it with her to the litter box. She placed it in front of her, pooped, then picked it up again to play once more. lol Another thing was she took one of her chicken chewies (after I gave it back to her as a reward for eating more meat on her own), dipped it in the water dish then dropped it in the meat dish and dipped it a few times in the blood before chewing on it again.

You reckon it was the chewy?
Then again, she may have eaten too much.
I do not think i would give the jerky with the sugar and spices. You could make her some without it though.

So sorry for both of you. I'm sure she'll get over it before I do. My immune system is wrecked from the immunusuppressent drugs I've been taking for years. Started getting sick too often so I came off of them a couple of weeks ago. It will take time for it to rebuild but I'm taking the right things now to restore it. I smelled one of those chewys and I could smell a lot of salt, reminds me of chicken bullion. I won't let her have them anymore, I don't know how much salt content is in it and the package doesn't say so better be safe than sorry. I changed out her food with fresh meat. I don't know how long you can keep meat out for them but I've noticed that meat I put out will dry up in just a few hours unless I add some water to it, but that also pulls the blood out from the meat. I live in South Texas where it has been 80-100% humidity for awhile now. Something in this room just sucks the moisture out of everything.

Generally they don't need nearly as much raw as compared to kibble as they make use of everything in it Once she gets going though plan on 6+oz a day until she is 3-4 months old at least We have had 8-10 week olds eat their body weight in a day lol. As for meat sitting out, once she is taking whole chunks(wing, neck, etc) it can stay about 24 hours in her cage no problem.

Well Nei is turning out to be the most hyper active ferret I've ever had. I know she is a kit and I think the youngest I've ever owned, but oh man she will not let me sleep lol. All she wants to do is play with me non stop. Wrestling with my hand, chasing, tunneling, hide and seek and the ambushes are never ending.
One thing I am seeing her do a lot now is she'll stretch her front paws out like she is going to stretch and then wag her tail like mad before leaping forward lol. She also is wanting to sleep closer to me, I made her a bed in the corner between my dresser and desk but every night she pulls herself further out of it and towards my bed. That wouldn't be a bad thing if I wasn't a big guy I'm afraid I might squish her in my sleep. She has been my alarm clock though, giving me a morning nip to remind me that it's play time. I have a small hole in my drywall from the first time she decided to wake me up with a nice nip to my armpit lol (headwall) got a wall patch on the way to fix that.
I also found that she tried stashing one last of those chewies from me, as I saw her dipping it in the food dish and licking it with the meat. I took it from her and boy she threw a temper tantrum as bad as any toddler I've ever seen. She was hissing for a good minute and tried to give me a good nip but I was quick. Haha, after she stopped she apologized and curled up in my arms and took a nap. She might love them but I won't give them to her until I'm comfortable that she has a stable and healthy apatite for the raw diet. What do yall think? Should I just let her have it since she evidently is very attached to them.

She was super affectionate today, wouldn't stop giving me kisses (and no chomps!) all day long. Maybe it was because daddy bought her a new bed today, one that was super fluffy and soft.
