They are absolutely beautiful. They look healthy, happy and full of personality. Sherry is really good at identifying color and patterns. Thérèse is from your area and you guys might have different names for colors and patterns, but here is a chart:

I love your babies!! They are adorable. I have a thing for these sable point ferrets. My Mitch looks kind of like your Haru. I think Haru is sable point. Sable points have a "V" mask to no mask at all. And their legs should be darker than the body, like Siamese cats. But I agree with Poncesmom. These are AFA definitions, and different countries and regions may have different names for these colors and patterns.

Thank you everyone! Wonderful replies. The charts are a great help as well! closetcreep, I saw that photo on google when i was studying the colours. The photos i took may differ from real life since they were taken at night, but Haru is very similar in colouring. She has alot more darker guard hairs. When I first got her, she had a whiter face so i assumed it was similar in pattern as a panda sable, but i shook my head because i now doubt she's got a panda pattern. (though she has those cute little panda rings around her eyes >3<) Akane, Thank you!! Ah Sable point~ that was my recent thought as well. Its a very lovely colouring! She does match what you're saying, with the legs darker than the body and also i did notice the light 'V' pattern on her face. It was faint in colour when i got her, so much that i didn't realise it until recent. but its there. I think it may have darkened in colour just alittle. I just started learning about the colours and patterns. Her legs and tail have dark brown rather than black. I heard that ferrets coats can become lighter/darker depending on seasons/diets and from shedding, so it could be possible she might change in colour right? Its very intriguing. ^^ Ah, does the coats become thicker in winter? (Depending on regions/etc of course) ~~ ^^

I love that video. She is so beautiful. You are right about colors changing during seasons. In the Winter, when their coats become thicker for warmth, then the undercoat becomes more prominent. The undercoat is white or cream, so the more of it you see, the more change in their color and pattern. Their topcoat are the Guard Hairs. That's where color and pattern come from. When the winter coat thins out, their colors and patterns emerge more. My Roamy is a sable and in the Winter, his mask slips to a V shape. In the Spring, he gets a full mask back. Here are two fun links showing some serious color changes: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/15865holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/641

Wow, your fuzzies are stunning! They look very "foreign," it would be hard to find ferrets like that in America. So cute!

poncesmom, Wow thats impressive! So it is possible that Haru's colour might change after winter, I will have to take photos and see~ >3< Does the same colour changes occur with albino ferrets? Yuki has dark yellow in some places, under belly, usually around his throat are and back end near his tail etc, but my vet told me that its from his scent glands and that his colour will go a light creamy white after being neutered.

The oil is also to promote new fur growth. My Juliet is white and so is Keller. They both have a little silver on their tails. I noticed that towards winter, they get that yellow showing up. I don't know about scent glands, but your vet must know. Some of our ferrents with intact/unscented ferrets will also know. Here is a good link with a discussion on Albino's: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/9545/colors-patterns
