Hi crazylady, their jill jab was nearly 9 weeks ago, yes they had it the same time last year and the year before that, do your ferrets get like this after their jill jab? (if they have jill jabs?) my mum seems to think she remembers similar behaviour last year just not so aggressive I don’t think it is adrenal sounds more like something to do with the jill jab Poncesmom but will definitely look out for it thanks yeah that rings true to me as well, obvious really but I didn’t think of it before thanks heather does anyone know how long it mite go on for? and would you recommend separating them or would it make it worse? :wave3:

I almost separated my one girl, Boudicca. She was hyper grooming her sister....but the whole thing resolved itself. It seems to take a couple of weeks and then it lessens in intensity and then it's over. I would say at least 2 weeks. If there's blood and she's being very aggressive then it might be worth it to separate them but remember they will be just as miserable apart * ciao

Hi Yes it defiantly sounds like the after effects of the jill jab its ferret pms lol she thought she was pregnant and having babies and simply wants something to mother her sister is having non of it and this is why she is aggressive and in a temper ( they try to drag them around and clean ears and bodies lol) I have seen jills weighing a pound and a half try and drag five pound hobs around as there babies lol it normally last anything from 2-4 weeks depending on the jill and the cage mates ( often they fight back as if to say hey behave leave me alone ) as long as she is not drawing blood I would not worry too much often it sounds worse than it is keep a close eye on them though as they can some into season up to three or four times so more jill jabs will be needed or you may get lucky and they figure once is enough lol good luck take care bye for now Bev
