My ferret has had runny poo for a week now. It's a normal color and he acts perfectly fine just as hyper as ever. He eats and drinks a lot too. He is a new ferret so he was on crappy food and now I have him on the better food but was just wondering if it's still ok that his poo is still runny.

Hi. How long have you had him and how old is he? Could he be dehydrated because of the runny poops, but you say he drinks a lot. Check for that by scruffing him and see if the skin snaps back or just stays pinched. Changing diets isn't so terrible, but dehydration can be.

I've only had him for just over a week some lady purchased him and then didn't want him because he is so hyper I believe he's only 4 months old and his scruff bounces back like normal so I don't think he's dehydrated

I have the same questions as Unclejoe. So, I'll ask a few others. First, Congratulations on your new little one. What is his name? How are the others getting along with him? Did he come from a pet store? or a rescue/shelter?
Aside from the runny poos, is his color good? Are his ears, nose and paws a nice pink? How is his energy level? Can you post a picture of his poos?
I would make an appointment and have a vet look at him. You don't want him to stay dehydrated and you don't want him to pass anything else along to the others. It could be stress from being in a new place or a change in his diet. Since it's been a week, I wouldn't let it go on longer and would take him in.
I hope the little guy feels better soon. (dance)

We cross posted. I simply don't understand people sometimes. However, he is in a good place now with you and that makes me happy for him.

He was a rescue and they are all getting a long so well. His paws are pink he's a normal temperature and he's ridiculously hyper everything about him seems normal and healthy besides the fact of runny poo

He is gorgeous! I bet he is a real sweetheart.
My Wynstan is my biggest boy. He'a a big goofy puppy of a ferret. I think of him as my cowardly lion, he could take any of them, but let's the girls beat him up. There is something so funny about the big boys.
Has he told you his name yet?

Well haha a very long time ago when I first thought about ferrets I seem a YouTube video of this giant albino they called jelly belly and I can't help myself I had to call him jelly Belly. He's just sooo big and chubby cheeks and I just know he's gunna be a monster of a boy so it kinda stuck he's my "little" jelly belly! He has so much energy he plays out the other ferrets then plays out my boxer and he still wants to keep going. Yesterday he litterly ran the house for 3 hours straight before I decided he better take a nap and food break and I put him in the cage but my other ones last about an hour then they like to take a little nap so I'm unsure how I'm going to keep him entertained when he's still going by himself he seems to really like digging so I'm going to set up the dirt box for him.
