So glad we looked into and took out some insurance for our three ferrets. It's come in handy so much already.
Bolin as you may know had his spleen removed. Where he was shaved he seems to have a bit of a rash going on. He's really itchy and has been sneezing, not loads but enough for me to notice. Our vet's given us a medicated wash to use, just as a one of. She doesn't want us washing him too much and drying out his skin, making him worse she's also given us some flee stuff, I'll have to check and update with the name later, for all three ferrets. She thinks it's unlikely but between us we decided it's worth a try since they do occasionally get to play out in the garden, and we have cats, foxes, hedgehogs, rats, mice and lots of birds around.
Hopefully that will sort him out. Any other suggestions are always welcome and I'll try to get a picture of his stomach to uploads. He does have it on his back, but it's harder to see through all the hair.
Korra has a little lump next to her anus. It has grown a bit since her last vet visit (for the same thing) and true to form it was a nice round lump yesterday and today it's got a scab on top, looks like it must be bugging her. Due to it's location and that it's growing (all be it slowly) our vet wants to remove it sooner rather than later. She's going back in next week to hopefully have it removed. It depends on how close to glands and what not it is. Fingers crossed.
Mako as you may know has been having trouble walking, and has been having 'accidents' on me and their cage has become one big toilet, as has the floor when they are out. I couldn't be 100% sure it's just Mako but I've seen him 'contributing' to the mess, and I've seen the other two using the puppy pad so I'm leaning that way. Of course once Mako's started somewhere they feel happy using that area as a toilet.
I've updated in more detail on Mako's thread, so quickly the plan is, check his bladder and express as necessary, antibiotics for his bladder, continue metacam and hopefully an MRI, then depending on MRI possibly an operation. Need to check with insurance what they will pay for, but his limit is only £2000... Hoping it will cover it and then ban him from being ill for the rest of the year! haha Otherwise a bit of juggling will have to be done.
