We've enjoyed having the kit cam link here and watching the birth of the wee meepers and then their growing up from meepers to wigglies to bouncing kits. There is often much excitement as the hours of birth come close and everyone checks in trying to be the first to get a glimpse of the wee meepers being born. Good luck, little mommas. ciao

Thank you !.. The girls are doing very well.
They're both sleek and short haired getting ready for delivery in just over a weeks time.
Lots of extra grooming going on right now and lots and lots of sleeping lol
Sunshine is much bigger then Monday so we wonder if Monday will have a small litter.
I DEFINITELY felt kits in her belly at 2+ weeks through 3+ weeks... I hate this period where everything is squishy and you start doubting yourself LOL
This is a very anxious time for me and I appreciate the support and excitement you all share with me!
I wont settle down until the kits are born and nursing...
Then its just the daily job of making sure everyone stays well and grows!

Thank you so much for posting this! I showed the live cam to my daughters (6 & 2) - they are hooked on keeping an eye on the mommies and their activities! My 6 year old told me that we should write you a thank you for shairing your mommies and their babies with us. So thank you We will be watching excitedly over the next few weeks for the kits!

Where has the time gone!!! Only 5 days left until Sunshine and Monday are due to deliver their kits! NOW the cam gets interesting to watch! We can actually see the kits KICKING in their bellies. Any time the girls lay on their backs, ( which is more and more common as the kits start taking up too much room) watch over their bellies and every once in a while you'll see little fluttery bumps ! That's the kits kicking! Now's the time to get signed up for chat and let us know you're around. Come on... Join in... we love company! Wow what a hard day!!... Sunshine started delivering in the early hours, 2 days early... We had planned get everything set up for a couple watchers overnight to get in contact etc... but the girls beat us to it!
I got up at 6am as normal and heard squeaking EEPS! Thankfully only Sunshine had started to deliver but Monday was in labor as well. Whisked her into her own box next door and concentrated on checking out Sunshine to be sure she was doing alright. Thank goodness we moved Monday because she delivered her first kit within Minutes.
By around 9 am Sunshine appeared finished with 6 and we concentrated on watching and helping out Monday. After rescueing a few kits that were accidently left in the litter box, resuss and warming up a couple others from each jill, Monday had 9 kits! 9! where the heck did she hide them all ? She was not very big!
She settled down really fast and had her bundle nursing and happy for the afternoon. Got up only for a bite, a drink and a poo and did very well.
Sunshine however was not pushing her kits to nurse.. She looked anxious. She wasnt contracting so I just concentrated on getting her settled down and getting kits nursing. 3 hours later she finally allowed the kits to nurse and Low and Behold!!! another kit!! Sadly it was a very small still born. Followed quickly by a large kit, the placenta wouldnt' deliver as her contractions had stopped so we rescued the kit and got it settled then tried to get her to settle down and nurse again ( bring on contrations to bring along that placenta. about an hour later she did indeed deliver that placenta, but was still shivering and contracting any time she let kits nurse.. which she wasn't awful keen on. Another hour interval each and we had 2 more kits alive and kicking, bringing her total to 9 as well!
FINALLY Sunshine could settle in and started gathering her kits to nurse... We've checked on her overnight several times to be sure she is ok and that the kits are nursing and doing well ( she has a couple tiddlers ..not too tiny but definitely will need to make sure they get their turn at the milk bar ) All is well this morning.
I did get advice from the vet and we suspect the long gap between births and the slow delivery of the remaining was down to the stillborn kit holding up the process in the middle. He recommended getting her to nurse would work as well or better than him coming out to give oxytocin, though he would be happy to do so if she just wasn't managing overnight. Luckily Sunshine is generally a good solid jill who will tolerate just about anything from me and together we managed just fine.
Soo... 9 each! yay! Cant wait to get their first weigh ins!
