So I got home from work this morning and played with my babies and cleaned out their cage. I deep clean their cage and our room every few days (I blame my medical background. I tend to try to keep everything very, very clean.) It keeps the smell down and it keeps my room a safe place for my babies to play. I usually watch Netflix on my T.V while I do this, so I can have something to listen to (besides choruses of excited dooking). Well, I finished my cleaning and my fuzzbutts went to sleep in their cage, and I went to pick another episode of House, and to my surprise, my remote had been stolen from its place on my end table. So I've been trying to find it for about an hour. This is the first big thing they've stolen since I brought them home. I've only got a few more places to look, so wish me luck! I want to know some things you other Ferrants have had to find after your fur babies decide to stash them.

I cannot leave a controller on the bed, they grab those things so fast and the rubber pieces make me nervous in case someone decided to chew on the thumb sticks. I have to put them away or keep it in my lap. My sister has a collection of stuffed animals that get moved every day to various spots and their new obsession is trying to stash their 12 foot tunnel. Oh and Rebel tried to stash me the other day, she, gently, grabbed onto my arm and pulled me to her stash spot. I think she missed me. LOL

Oh, those naughty little thieves. The remote is a favorite item. It's the rubber on it. You'll have to get use to putting it away. Anything rubber or foam is off limits, including flip flops.
Roamy and Juliet take turns stealing our Wii remote case. Sometimes, they steal it from each other. Juliet is all girl. She wants my kitchen utensils, everything from pot holders to spatulas. She also likes my cosmetics on my dressing table.
Mika waits patiently for our pantry door to open and then tries to steal crackers. Of course, she can't have them but that doesn't deter her.
Wynstan steals any large pieces of food. If I put a wing on their plate, he steals it. Then he stashes it in his Daddy's shoe. His Dad is not amused.
Keller steals Wynstan's catnip cigars. He has two and Keller is crazy about them. He had one and then I bought one for Keller. She wants both.
Have fun on your scavenger hunt. Once you find their stash spots, they will find different ones. They really are smart and so much fun.

Haha, it's gonna be a fun journey for you Besides stashing everything that they can carry around the house, mine seem to favour stealing stuff from our guests. They steal the inside part of the shoes if they are left in reach (we still have a couple of them laying around -that don't belong to us!), they silently start carrying stuff from their bags or purses (zipper is just a minor inconvenience that they deal with fast),such as keys, wallets (so that we end up looking like creeps), they desperately look for anything that has a wrapper like candy (Aramis acts all silent when he sees something like that and once he gets it runs as fast as he can to a hiding spot), they seem to hide all my flashdrives way too often too. Gabriel steals fruit (never eats them, just rolls them around and hides them). If I open an orange he sits next to me until I give him the peel to stash. At least that smells good Oh, and they steal socks. From your feet, especially Gizmo. Oh, and Gizmo and Aramis steal food and usually hide it in my closet. Preferably hidden in the clothes...(sigh) Bella is so tiny and she tries to carry the biggest stuff. It's adorable. Ozzy used to steal boots. But like... huge boots and tried to hide them in his cage.

Success! I found my remote under my nightstand... Along with a few socks, toys, and one of my partners t-shirts. I've seen Panda go under there a few times... Guess this is my new first place to look when things go missing. It's a good thing they're so darn cute ;P Now hopefully I can get some sleep before work.

My Loki seems to prefer things that I was under the mistaken impression belong to me. Like my hairbrush, toothbrush, and a shirt. I had to get a new hairbrush because the last one never was never recovered when we were at my mom's house. Loki has at least 5 of my pens in various stash spots. All toys are to be in stash spots as well, only to be brought out when Loki feels the need to reorganize his horde. One of the fuzzbutts stole a change purse from me. I found it a month after I last saw it, in one of their stash spots. Liam tried to make off with my mom's boyfriend's tools, specifically his screwdriver, the last time we were over there.

At my last house, we had at least 6 remotes for various devices, but only used the universal cable one mostly. Well, we had 3 of those at one point because Poppy kept hiding them. Sometimes when I'd find a cable remote there would be another remote in the same spot

Haha, ferrets are so funny! Zoey is our first born and she let us know right away that what we *thought* was ours, was actually hers! She would hide our shoes; but usually just the one, never the pair. Or she would take the insole out, those she usually took the pair! The best steal and hide item was Tom's wallet. She would hide his wallet under the couch, but take the bills out and hide those somewhere else! Tom did not think this was too funny, but Zoey and I did! (giggle) Zekrom doesn't really steal anything-unless I'm not *aware* of something we're missing? Pepper steals Tom's work clothes! She will take his pants out of the hamper and drag them down the hall and under the couch! His pants probably weigh 5 times what Pepper weighs, but she pulls them and stashes them without any struggle! I think that is her way to try to get him stay home! Reshiram steals food! This sweet chunky baby will take a wing from the top shelf of their FN cage (double unit) and run down the ramps and out of the cage to go to the other side of the room to go under the futon! Or he will take meat chunks out of his siblings mouths, and stash it in their little tent! Elvyra-the queen of stashing! If anything is out in the open, she has a stash spot for it! (I have been able to find her treasures so far...) Kongs, balls, keys, squeekies, food, socks, shoes, stuffed animals, pens, the Marshalls ocotopus(Zekrom was sleeping in it and she tried her hardest to stash them both under couch!), Tom's clothes, and recently the 8ft clear tunnel! Over the weekend, we moved the couch and I should have taken a picture! I can't believe everything she could fit under the couch! (aka, listed above!) And she has the "proud prance" when she's going to stash! Gosh, I love these little beings! :hug2:

Love reading all these cute little stories! I can't wait until I can have Dev and a sibling free roam so they can steal (giggle) The most my three have tried to steal is my boyfriend's Playstation controller, while he was playing as well. Hammy tries so hard to carry that controller as far as she can, then gives up and just goes to bed

Haha I'm also rewatching House on Netflix right now I usually have it playing when I hangout with my fuzzies. My ferrets love to stash their food every time I fill their bowl they love to have me hand feed them and hiding all the little crumbs everywhere. They also throughly enjoy when I fold the laundry nothing better then knocking over all the piles of clean laundry and stealing lone socks. Also changes up the stash spots is always a classic.

Lol so do I! I just let it play in the background and I end up not watching any of it because my fuzzers are far more entertaining. And if I stop giving them attention they crawl up my pant legs and pounce on me.

Yea Fender likes to walk all over the computer if it is on the floor, or both of them like to jump all over me if I don't pay attention.

Gabriel just proceeds to steal the laptop. He tried to stash it behind the sofa .. the fact that he can drag it, with a cooling pad attached still amazes me:)))

I've noticed that if I leave my laptop closed and laying on my pillows sideways with the slippery part facing up, my fuzzers will slide down it on their bellies like a slide. It's super amusing to watch.
