They only ate about an oz of the rabbit meat and one and a half of the mice, so maybe 2 ozs total but they are chowing on the duck neck now. Here is next weeks menu starting with Sunday again,

Duck necks gone this morning. I know Sir is eating mouse but I have not seen Missy eat any. On a side note I was at Petco yesterday for a littler box (which they did not have what I wanted) and I saw they had 5 babies there. One looked a dew with silver guard hair in a strip down its back and on its hips, one was a silver sable who's facial structure looks much like Missy's and its markings remind me a wolf. I want them both! I think I have a real problem lol!

So Belle is eating kibble with a little water and soupie mixed in, I do seem to have to guide her to the bowl or spoon into her but she is eating. Of course I'm worried about mixing the soup with the kibble and making her tummy hurt but I will watch her. Sir and Missy were off kibble in 3 days, let's hope she is too! I wish I had a video going yesterday when Sir tried to feed, he went in grabbed a chicken chunk and came out of the cage and right to her and set the piece down in front of her as if to say, "you need some good foods to grow strong and healthy, now eat this!" She of course only stared at it and him as if they were aliens. Sorry for the many posts to catch up for you, I just wanted to make sure I got it all in!

So you have a new baby?
Have you tried the soup recipe on her? Often they will dig right into that as kits..
And yes whole prey and chunks can sit out for 24 hours. They usually won't eat it if it's bad.. but if it's smelling bad to you then I'd chuck it.

Yes I tried the soup the first day, I think she was a. Little stressed though and barely ate anything the first day. I was able to get her to eat the kibble with maybe 2 tbsp of soup and warm water that night only a bit off though. Last night however I did 3tbsp of soup and a little kibble and added a few slivers of chicken int too and she ate most of the slivers and did a decent job with the rest. This morning I put 2 cubes of soup with just a tiny bit of kibble for her and she was eating when I left to go to my mothers. I'll see how she does when I get home in an hour. Sir and Missy are eating their mice this morning. I'm having difficulty deciding if they are slowing down in how much they eat or if they just eat more of certain things. The seem to finish the duck necks, leaving just a few bone pieces but lately they have been leaving at least 2oz of everything else I put out. I know they are not thrilled with rabbit but they do eat just enough of it to not be starving for the next meal time. So 6oz of duck neck, 1-2oz of rabbit 2-4oz chicken wing and everything else except sardines they still are a no way Jose with them. Energy wise, Belle definitely has more then they do. Sir and Missy will put themselves to bed after about 1.5 hours and she is still going. I use that time to work on feeding her. This morning she was climbing all over me when I was trying to feed her. She just wanted to play but in the mornings all I have time for is feeding them until after I get back from my mothers. I felt so bad for having to keep her caged. Sir and Missy on the other hand watched from their sleep sack until I took the chicken wings out and put the mice in and then went to eat. I think they have gotten used to the schedule though because when I come back from my moms they start clamouring to get out. They know that it is playtime then. Belle doesn't seem interested in treats (the only treats I have are chicken jerky and freeze dried liver) and doesn't really pay any attention to ferretone either. She is super aware of her surroundings and I'm guessing it is r/t her deafness. She plays well with them and will even initiate activity, it's very funny to watch her pounce on Missy. The little ball of white jumping on the beastie twice her size. All and all I guess it is going well.

If they are getting pork hearts but have not had any pork meat yet does that count as a separate protein?

Sure. Heart is a muscle meat!
Babies are so much fun. Try and offer her some of the mice your giving missy and sir. I'd try some chicken or duck wings too. They are little furry tummies with teeth at this age. Sounds like she is doing really well so far.
Treats are hit or miss here. Some love freeze dried liver or jerky.. most of mine just do not like treats.

Belle is eating 4 oz of soup with 2 oz of rabbit slivers and a sprinkle of crushed kibble on top. Seems she won't touch it without the sprinkle yet. Sir and Missy are sort of kind of eating sardines that I drizzled a bit of ferretone on. Missy is licking away and every so often she will actually get some meat in her mouth and then gag. Sir is not being tricked by the ferretone. I'll see how they do in the morning. They actually left a couple of ozs of duck neck today also, so I am thinking they may be slowing down. Keeping in tune with Tuesday weigh and picture day here are their weights, no pics I was too busy cleaning 2 cages and getting food together tonight. Maybe I'll get some tomorrow. Sir 2lbs Missy 2lbs Belle 1lb

Belle ate 4oz last night and 5oz today. I am slowly increasing her rabbit (yes I am making sure she will happily eat rabbit since I have so much of it now) sizes and decreasing the amount of soup. I will try again tonight to not add any kibble to her bowl and see what's he does. On Friday I might try her with some quail bone in if she is doing well with the slices. Sir and Missy ate 4oz of chicken wing today and 2oz of the sardines mysteriously poofed in the night. I'm hoping for at least that much of their organ meal. They do not seem to care for ground and the pancreas is ground so to entice them a bit I puréed the liver in the hopes it would mask the pancreas. They do seem to like liver a lot.

I often have to make an organ soup or mush to get my kids to eat everything. They despise kidney! I can't blame them, it smells funky.
Belle sounds like she is progressing nicely. A little sprinkle of kibble is okay until you get her fully eating raw. Just slowly increase the size of the slivers until you get her onto chunks. You can try hanging pieces off the side of the cage with shower hooks, do a little kibble dust on the outside. Sometimes the stimulation of shaking it will get them more into eating it. I'd try and offer her some mice too.
Do your kids like grizzly salmon oil? Its much better for them than ferretone.
Also a lot of the time when they initially switch they eat like pigs and then slow down. They are trying to catch up with all of that lost nutrition from eating kibble!

I haven't tried the salmon oil yet, I had gotten 2 bottles of ferretone before I realized and I have been using that sparingly so I have over a bottle left. Belle does not know the taste of it since I have been using the kibble as her gateway. Belle ate 4oz last night and 2oz today. The rabbit pieces were a bit larger today and I think they may have been too much for her yet. She should be 12 weeks today but I swear she is younger acting (not that I know much about how young ferrets develop), she seems to be much more awkward then Sir and Missy were at this point and more lost as to what to do with things. I did get her to eat a jerky treat tonight though, I just kept putting it in her mouth until she got it lol .So I cut the pieces smaller tonight for her and I'll see how she does in the morning. I will try the mice with her this weekend also. Probably tomorrow actually, this is my weekend to work so I won't be home much. Sir and Missy only ate 2oz of their organ soup last night and 3oz today. I know they slow down eventually but geese I didn't really think it would be yet. Thought they grew until about 8 months. I'm still putting out 6ozs each time for them untill I get a better grip on where they are headed. They still seem to eat most of it at least occasionally, like their heart meal they ate it all. I think that's it for tonight, my allergies have been kicking my butt and I'm tired and dizzy. This is one of those times where when a patient walks in 5 minutes before we can lock the doors we say, "you better be sicker then I am!" Of course they rarely are but we never turn any one away. Too many people do not know the difference between Urgent Care and the E.R.. (headwall)

Belle had 5oz last night about half soup and half slivers and left 2 slivers in the bowl this morning. Guess she's not ready for larger pieces yet. Sir and Missy ate 2oz of rabbit meat.

Marshall farms seems to ship them out younger than they should. The birth certificate might say they are so many weeks old, but they clearly are not. It is also possible that she is a waardy, they tend to be slower mentally catching on. Just keep trying with her and being patient. She will get it! Average food intake is 1-2oz a day for a female and 2-3oz a day for a male. As long as they are eating that and not losing weight, I wouldn't be too concerned. I hope you feel better soon! I have terrible allergies myself. Just started taking Flonase, it's actually working pretty well for me. So tired of the drippy itchy nose
