Well it's always difficult to tell from distance what might be wrong... if you really feel like there is something more behind it, a vet check might be a good idea, but as you don't have precise symptoms be prepared that it might get costly (you could do blood work to rule out lymphoma, or x-ray to rule out a partial blocage and and and...) Frankenprey would have the advantage that it takes a bit more time to eat and every plate is different, so this could be rather entertaining (compared to grinds and commercial stuff which usually is soft and more or less the same texture). You can do a mix of frankenprey and grinds/commercial, so if you run out of one you still have the other...? And in my opinion the moment you get the hang of frankenprey it is easier to judge and read commercial labels, so you will feel more comfortable with the decisions which product to buy or not Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

Maybe we could try that thank you for being so patient with me. I definitely recognize that I need total hand holding on this. I'm so paranoid of doing it wrong and really have a hard time learning it. I think my thing with the vet, is none around me support raw diets. Mine has specifically told me not to do it. I'm feeling like she would strictly tell me it's diet.

No worry, we don't have any pressure regarding time, so you can chose what you'd like to switch to and take time learning the necessary Have you ever looked around in your supermarkets/grocery stores/delis/asian food stores what pieces of meat from which animal would be available to you? Could you do a list of easily available items and maybe one with more difficult stuff? Do you have a mixer/grinder to make organ soup (or soup in general; some things are easier to introduce when liquid)?

I am sorry it has taken me so long to respond, I have worked a lot this week! I am off tomorrow so I will check out what meats could be available. I know there are many grocery stores here.. as well as an Asian market. So I will get back to you asap. As far as a grinder, is there a specific one you could recommend, or just any? I could definitely get one.

I'm sorry, I don't have much experience with grinders, you might need a blender if you prefer to serve organs as soup instead of chunks, but I wouldn't feed bone in meats and muscle meat as grinds Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

For frankenprey it would be great if you could find more different proteins, chicken and turkey are great, best is to use at least 3 different proteins in rotation and at least one of these should be red meat.
Please check as well if you can find heart and another organ (besides liver).
Could you start and buy gizzards? Those are like edible chewing gum and help to build up jaw strength, which is necessary if they should be able to chew bone, chewing on bone will give them beautiful white teeth!

I will be looking into the other proteins how should I go about giving them the gizzards? Should I just serve them as is?

Perfect! Looking forward what you will find! ...check the freezer sections for frozen quail, that would be an excellent bone source! Sometimes rabbit and lamb are also available frozen. I would cut the gizzards smaller to start with, and then go bigger step by step. Maybe start with 1/2 gizzard (cut in very small pieces) and mix with their usual food? Don't be surprised when you cut them, they have hard and soft tissue and you'll need a sharp knife Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

Lots of good news! I was able to find chicken hearts at a grocery store I will continue to look for more proteins I also tried out the gizzards. They had about 3/4 of one cut very small mixed into their food like you suggested. The whole bowl was demolished, which is very exciting! I saw Eugene get a few, so I am positive he went for it. Where as weasel I didn't physically see any go in her mouth (so she may have eaten around them..but probably got some) I will try again tonight..and when I see them both doing it successfully I'll try bigger pieces

Yay!
Great for the hearts, please buy some as well and try the same as with the gizzards!
For the gizzards, great they show interest! Please stay with the same size for 2-3 meals and then slowly increase, and let me know soon how it goes! *waiting impatiently*

Just popping in to let you know I'm still working on things I did a few meals of small gizzard slices and it went well! I saw weasel eating them as well which is thrilling! I then tried bigger slices, which I may have been too ambitious about! I will now try smaller, bigger pieces...if you know what I mean hehe! I've got the hearts now! So I will be trying that out as well

I will start posting the menu this Friday for you if that is okay! I've transitioned to a new schedule so that will be my day off.
I have good news and bad news.. good news is I started with hearts and those are going well also! Bad news is once I get past about the size of my pinky nail they turn their nose up (on both the hearts and gizzards) any advice?
