After doing some research I would not use this product or combination of products on my ferrets without the consult of a homeopathic vet or practitioner. This is a combination of "medications/supplements" used to boost the immunity of "humans" not carnivores. There are some concerns as the transfer product is a bovine colostrum product. There has been questionable success with this. I have used such a product but really saw no great benefit. I'm going to continue to investigate but from I've read so far that I would not suggest this without the consult of a registered naturopath ciao

I have only used the msm which in 2 weeks time put a heavy 5oclock shadow on farahs pink flesh colored tail and seem to be growing hair elsewhere as well....if I knew for sure that I didnt need the transfer product in conjunction with the dimension I would just use the dimension to get her swelling down....also the msm really seems to have cut down on her scratching as well... thankyou for all your help, I came here cause I wanted advice from people who actually log their experiences good and bad....I have 2 left lorenzo and farah....farah is 8 and almost totally bald....her history has been ferretonin implants last dec june before that and January before that which my other vet says it should be every 3 months which seems like that would work better going by he hair loss/gain patterns....so at the end of march shes supposed to get another ferretonin implant being its 3 months now...however I was thinking about going with the deslorelin this time for all the benefits it seems to have over the other implant....my worry is her age and health and if its even an option considering those factors... sorry for the long post

Unfortunately deslorelin isn't available right now, although it was originally supposed to be in NOvember. I use MSM for mild osteoarthritis in my thumb and it seems to help with inflammation/pain, if I take it every day. Since nothing else seem to be helping Jaffa's adrenal, we may try it for him.

Don't apologise for a long post....it's better to fully understand the situation. We just got the notification that the DES is now available and that vets should be placing their orders ASAP. I personally would go with the DES and the Ferretonin. I've found the combination of those two products amazing. I'm in the process of ordering the DES for my wee boy (I have an advanced adrenal ferret at the moment) I'm making do with Lupron at the moment but that's what it is..Making do. In all the years and ferrets that I've treated with adrenal the best so far has been the combination of DES and melatonin as a support (ferretonin) ciao

I'm honestly not sure. I use melatonin oral...I'm always home during that sweet time of 7 to 9 hrs after sunrise. Other, will pop in to help with the timing for this. I believe they can be done at the same time but I want to make sure. ciao

Heather is your little one intact-----I do not understand. How can a ferret get adrenal with proper darkness and be intact?

I have both intacts and rescues. My rescues get adrenal just like every other altered ferret. If you alter, then you will have to fight adrenal unless you use the DES as a preventative. A poorly kept intact will get adrenal too, if the lighting is constantly wrong and they're left in season perpetually. As far as oral melatonin....try Amazon. That's where I get mine. Just make sure that you can be available during that sweet time of 7 to 9 hrs after sunrise. Missing that will nulify the effects of the melatonin. It's one of the problems with using an all natural supplement...having to be at the exact right time for it to work. ciao

I can handle that time window since I go home for lunch and if I can't be there someone is always home so shes covered. Good news is I found a exotic vet that say they have the DES in stock which everyone else says their still on back order so now she will be getting her implant next Friday Im really excited for her....also I've been wanting to switch to raw diet for both my ferrets especially with my male having stomache issues which Im not sure have been resolved totally, in fact Im just not sure if the meds he took for his bacteria causing his gas and bloating fixed him since his poops are going back the way they were.....so raw is definitely in their future... I just need to read that forum tooic still...I'm sure someone has good advice and info etc...
