I am thinking of getting a Double unit Ferret Nation cage, my question is I have 7 little fuzzy butts, at this point I have 5 in 1 cage and 2 in another, would a double nation cage hold 7 comfortably? My guys get an average of 5-8 hours out per weekday and over 10 hrs on weekends, they are basically only in the cages when we are at work, out or sleeping.

I would usually not advocate putting 7 in a double level FN but I think it depends on size, activity levels of the ferrets involved. I would definitely say no to 7 adult males, might to 7 adult females but still you're looking at quite a tight fit ciao

I'd recommend getting two and putting them side by side, that should give them more room to move around and more places for larger beds.

I have two adult females and two adult males in a triple decker ferret nation. They usually all sleep in the same ferret pile but when they are awake is a different story. Without a lot of out of cage time, they are hellions.

The manufacture recomends 5 ferrets can be held comfortable in a standard double Ferret nation cage (they also assume no outside time). I would say if they are out and roaming that much, 7 should be more than okay. I hardly see mine walking around in their double level (I have five) and they get plenty of roam time. I'd say yes <3

I have seven in a triple, although one is separated right now, so there's six in two of the sections. I think it's fine as long as they get plenty of time out of the cage

I do eventually want to get 2, but that is a big expense all at once unless I dip into the vet fund, which I am not prepared to do at this point. Thanks for the input, I may get one and build a tunnel from my other large cage, temporarily somehow, lots to think on. Thanks for the input.

Can you set up a playpen that can either be set up to be accessed from the cage by tubes or ramped from the cage. I'm just concerned that with that number of ferrets that it would be too tight. I know that sometimes you wonder why you need that much space as you will find all of them in a hammy but to live in a space that is overcrowded will cause stress related health issues. Ideally, we like to give them a certain amount of out time but things happen, shift changes, health issues, family issues and suddenly you've got 7 ferrets locked up for a day or several days, so that possible consideration must be thought through too. That's why I don't advocate too many ferrets in a cage even when they've got considerable out time ciao

I have a playpen which we are trying to figure out how to modify as my 1 girl LouLou jumps out all the time. I have 2 8 panels that we use to separate them from the dinning room and kitchen. I would love to be able to leave them out in the pen all the time
