Over the weekend I got more ferret meats (and I ordered my first mice!) and meats for Riley. There are still a couple things I need for her, mainly supplements (salmon oil, calcium, vitamin E.) She's going to be so excited when she gets her first raw meal, she always flips out when I pull out a meal for the ferrets. She's been acting normal, which is good, she even got a little mischievous and crept upstairs to rip stuff up while my mom dropped me off at school! I will update you guys on her condition when I start her on the raw diet.
In other news, tomorrow I'm going to call and schedule my falconry exam for my birthday (April 2). I hope I pass!

Oh snap you do falconry?? We have a neighbor who does it, he skipped this year after releasing his last red tail hawk but she was HUGE! Good luck on your test, and yay for your raw endeavors! Riley is going to love it!

I am wanting to put my 10 yr golden doodle on a raw diet. She will not eat raw except for rabbit (hesitatingly). I put out a plate of chicken gizzards last night ---gently microwaved---because i know she hates raw, it was there this morning. she will eat raw eggs. when we give her cooked meat she will stand there and look at us until we close the door before she eats it(except beef). Have u ever seen this behavior before??? She had her first set of puppies last year------I was beat over the head by one vet who said that was like a senior woman having a baby. She is in a fenced in yard---but where there is a will, there is a way. Papa was a beagle. I have wanted to post these pics

linsul, I do not do falconry yet, I am an aspiring falconer, I guess. I'm taking the exam to get my license, and I also need equipment and a hawk house (I put those things on my birthday list, lol). abbeytheferret6, your doggie is adorable! Poor snake, lol, I used to have a pet snake named Sushi. Anyway, while Riley will eat ANYTHING (we've had several close calls and a blockage surgery with her), Charlie acts in a similar way to your goldendoodle when it comes to organs and fish. If I give it to him, he'll make a face and drop it. It sounds like your dog likes privacy when eating, as is natural. Maybe you can try pouring raw egg over the lightly cooked meat? Or, maybe you can treat her like a large ferret and make soupie for her? It sounds like she has imprinted on her kibble. Have you ever tried giving her freeze-dried raw? PS: If you have any, PLEASE post pictures of the puppies!

Squeeeee!!! Those puppies are SO CUTE! I like the tiny one trying to look over the board. Good luck with the freeze-dried raw, let me know how it turns out!
