So, to start off, Yes, I have taken my Jake to the vet. I am wondering what there is I can do for him. The vet that I went to is trying to charge me a very large sum of money for a Lupron shot and can not get his hands on any implant. He will not do treatment without me spending money on things to confirm if Jake does in fact have Adrenal (The vet wants to do an ultrasound at $300).
Now, I am thinking that Jake has Insulunoma, based on his current eating habits and current rapid weight loss. He is going downhill quickly, and I am not sure what to do. I have looked through my whole town, and I cannot find anyone who can help with medicine or an implant. I am at wits end at what to do?
My partner and I have decided to try and make Jake as comfortable as possible, but we are not sure what to do. Perhaps anyone has a better idea? We are trying to pull them off of kibble right now, and hope that will improve his condition, but we aren't sure how much longer he has.
He has been sleeping a lot, eating little, and his legs are getting slightly atrophied.
Any suggestions?

Have you had them do a BG test? It doesn't have to be fasting a low BG is a low BG. Knowing this can help. As far as adrenal, it seems that lupron is expensive, probably because demand is so high because of the lack of DES. What you describe does sound like end stage adrenal, it could be insulinoma but it does sound like adrenal. Can you not convince your vet to do a lupron trial instead of insisting on a high end process ultrasound? ciao

The vet (who honestly isn't on my top favorite people list) doesn't even have it and would have to order it. He said it was 'on back order' and would call me when it comes in. I cannot find it anywhere in town. I work nights, so finding anything that is out of town early in the morning is really really killing me. It seems like everyone (including the vet that Jake went to to get diagnosed at) wants me in at 1-4 pm, which is dead in the middle of my sleep ...
It is killing me, but he still seems happy, when I can get him up and moving.
