So the other night, we had some Beef Pot Roast for dinner.
Actually we have this maybe twice a month, sometimes 3 times a month. We have a nice crock-pot slow cooker, takes nearly a full day to cook the meat and it comes out nice and juicy and very stringy, like you can pull little strips off and just eat them.
So, I was sitting at my desk eating mine, and a piece fell off my fork and onto the floor.
Before I could find a napkin to reach down to clean it up.
Malcolm darted over from his hiding spot and started sniffing at it, and he grabbed it in his teeth and ran off with it! i watch him for a moment, and he is licking it as though he is enjoying its meaty juices and I get ready to step over and pick it up presuming he is going to leave it alone when he is done licking it, but no.. he then starts to eat it!
So then I decided to let him try a bigger piece so I tore one off my pot roast, held it out in my hand and he comes over, sniffs it, starts to lick it, and then takes it and runs off with it!
Next thing I know, he's just going to town on this hot piece of beef pot roast! He absolutely loved it, hes got it in his mouth and he starts shaking it like its some animal he has to kill, pieces are flying around the floor and then he digs in and starts eating them up!
So then I took some more, a smaller piece, and held it out for Serenity. Well, she just stuck her nose up at it and ignore it, so then I broke it all up in to little pieces and mixed it into their Kibble.
Malcolm then finished the second piece he took from me, and went up to get some water from he water dish, and then discovered all the little pieces I mixed into the kibble, and now he is going to town on that too!
20 minutes later, he's racing around the room, dooking, wardancing, pouncing everything in sight, acting like just one crazy hyper little ferret high on stimulants; quite more so then he usually does!
So its quite clear, that Malcolm loves beef pot roast!
(dance)
So I'm gonna havta make sure he gets some mixed in with the kibble every time we cook it for ourselves!
Maybe if I mix it in more often, then Serenity might start to take a liking to it, and then we'll start giving them bigger chunks as a special treat.
