3 weeks into raw transition and little LouLou is still a fight to get to eat it, she does take it from a spoon but as soon as I let her go to try and follow the spoon to the bowl, I get about a tablespoon into her then she runs off. The boys are doing great, Cyrano loves the raw, as I was mixing up their breakfast Cyrano was standing on the pen waiting, so I dropped in a piece off heart, he grabbed it and ran to eat it. Jagger will eat soup and pudding, tried a bowl of slivers and Jagger and Cyrano picked at it very well. LouLou is my concern, she is just being so stubborn, do I keep making soup and pudding waiting for her to catch up to the boys or should I make her a bowl for herself and a bowl of slivers for the boys? My mix is 6-8 oz of chicken meat, 1 oz of pork liver or beef kidney, sometime .5oz of each, 2 chicken hearts, .5 tsp of egg shell.

Your LouLou looks and acts just like my Coco! He is so stubborn to eat raw unless I force him to or hand-feed him. (headwall) we both just need to keep taking it really slow and take baby steps.

I felt so bad buying a bag of kibble today, I bought a really small bag and I am hoping it is my last bag! She is just a stubborn little weasel!

Oh! I like to blend up my kibble until it's like powder and I mix a little bit of it in with the raw. Seems to help.

I learned tonight that you can tag some of the senior members with questions. Just click the 'little weeble person with the @' to the left of the emoticon button, then put in their name. Like @julesalot has been very helpful and Heather...just for instance, many have been helpful. I can't give you advice as I'm new to raw foods as well. Just gave my boys pudding tonight, Bear is the only one who still does not like it. Good luck. It's messy huh

Keep pushing the others with their slivers, that's great they're taking them! And keep LouLou to where she is. Keep spoonfeeding her, how much will she eat from a spoon? You can hold her in your lap, sit the bowl in front of you and have your hand grasping her gently, so if she tries to run you can pull her back. Spoon feed her, and lets say she eats 5 spoonfuls then runs off. This time, don't let her leave until she eats 10 spoonfuls. If she tries to get away, pull her back and offer her more soup. She will learn that, mom wants her to eat, and she won't get to play until she eats. Once you get her eating a good amount like that, you'll have out-stubborned her a little. Keep holding her, but put her on the floor and have your hand on her, keep spoon feeding, just with her standing on the floor. Once she is okay with that, very slowly, lower the spoon into the bowl. If she tries to run off, pull her back and offer it to her again. She will get there, don't worry. And also you'll need to make sure the batch is completely balanced. So don't do just kidney, you can do just liver, but not just kidney. And need to make sure it is 8 ounces of meat. If you want to add in kidney- 8 oz chicken thigh 1/2 chicken liver (or 1 oz) (<< EDIT- disregard this please;)2 chicken hearts 0.5 ounces kidney 0.5 ounces liver 1/2 teaspoon eggshell powder Otherwise, just do 1 ounce liver. @poncesmom, Heather, is that recipe okay?

Ok thanks, she takes about 4 spoonfuls before she really starts to scramble away, I will adjust my liver and kidney. I do sit on the floor with her and the bowl while the other 2 are eating out of the bowl as I spoon feed her. On the plus side Cyrano is having raw food poops! I don't believe I happy for ferret poop LMAO

8 oz chicken thigh 1/2 chicken liver (or 1 oz) 2 chicken hearts 0.5 ounces kidney 0.5 ounces liver 1/2 teaspoon eggshell powder @poncesmom, Heather, is that recipe okay? I'm not poncesmom or Heather, but can I answer anyway? This recipe has too much organ in it. For 8 oz of chicken, you need 1 oz TOTAL organ and 1 oz heart. We generally start with liver because it's easy to find, but you can mix your organs if you want to. If you're going to mix organs, you need AT LEAST half liver, then finish out with the other organ. Just make sure you have a TOTAL of 1 oz organ.

Thank you for catching my mistake Gina!, I actually didn't mean to put Liver twice, (shy) I'll correct it.

Yes I found liver to be easy to find, I have pork and Chicken, I picked up a beef kidney the other day for variety and as a 3 rd protein source. I did give them organic ground bison, at first it seemed they were into it, but in the end they were not, they didn't eat anywhere near as much as the chicken.

While it is good to have multiple proteins in the organ category, the 3 protein minimum should be in the muscle meat & bone categories. (sorry)

Yes! LouLou ate from the bowl, I had her in my lap started with dipping my finger in the pudding, she likes the pudding better than the soup, then got the spoon, while she was eating from the spoon, slowly put her on her paws on the floor, I still had to gently hold her in place to stay at the bowl, I lowered the spoon in until she was eating out of the bowl! I will so take it!

LouLou's poop's are showing signs of stress and not digesting properly, she is still playing and was the last one to fall asleep after tonight's free time, she is drinking well also. Should I continue trying to feed her raw or let it rest for a couple of days? Tonight I mixed mushed kibble with soupies, she seemed to like it, but still had to feed her.
