Been looking for a friend for Amok since I got him pretty much. Had no luck, as ferrets are not a big thing around here and only two pet stores have any available. One of which is Petco and I believe one or more of the ferrets they have is ill, as they are not available for purchase with signs on the empty enclosure for the past several weeks stating they are "under observation." The other pet store is a local place that rarely gets in ferrets. Maybe two dozen kits a year. Well, got a call from the little local store this morning that they got in half a dozen kits "for the holidays" (sigh) on Friday and they had been observed for illness or stress over the weekend and were available for sale this morning! They opened at 8 and I got there at 7:30 and waited lol Got in there and saw THIS little dude. All of them were adorable, of course, with a couple champagnes, a sable, two chocolates, and him. Little silver mitt boy with a mostly dark nose. Heart in my throat because he looks so much like my last silver mitt, Wolf, who had a solid black nose. I made sure to look at every kit and make the best decision based on temperament and that connection. It was love at first sight and he was my favorite, so I bought him and brought him home. Meet Fracas! He's a tiny little guy at 309 grams, is a bit skinny. He will get to meet Amok in the next few days, is in his own cage for now. Will make a batch of soupie for him tomorrow using the batch I made for Amok and adding some extra meat to offset the extra eggshell I added while introducing slivers/mince to Amok. This will be my first kit switch, I will just add his info to Amok's switch thread vs making a separate one.

He is so adorable, reminds me of my little guy when he was a baby, wish I'd taken photos then. Soo cute. Lucky you know about raw foods early

Thanks everyone! I think he is super cute I switched some bedding just a bit ago, Fracas' poops look normal for such a young guy going through lots of changes, no bad looking poos(and I looked in the litter boxes at the pet store and all of the poos in the boxes looked normal nothing worrying, they all appeared healthy) so I switched a bit of dirty litter in the litter boxes, too. I usually don't wait too long to intro new ferts but I want to make sure little dude is settling in before I add any more stress to his life lol So just going to switch bedding and toys and such for a few days. I realized I've mostly had silvers lol. But Wolf and now Fracas have been the only ferrets I've had with dark noses. This was Wolf... Should be able to get some good/funny pics of Fracas, he does a nice DFS lol.

Wow, Fracas and Wolf do look SO alike!! That's actually how I ended up with Elwood last weekend, he looked like my Leather but with darker fur.
I'm glad things are going well with him thus far. Please do not hesitate to inundate us with photos of your 2!

Aww.. adorable. You might try just offering him a chunk of meat; being a kit, he'll very likely take to the raw immediately. I hope you have LOTS of meat in your freezer! You've got a tummy-with-teeth!

Fracas is just darling, and very handsome. I hope that he Amok will become great friends. I like to think that your sweet Wolf was watching over you and saw this little fellow and knew he would need a good home. Fracas is Wolf's Holiday present to you. And Congratulations on getting such good pictures of a kit. The little bundles of energy rarely hold still for their first pictures.

He certainly is a typical energetic kit, it was a lot of fun playing with them all yesterday. Bunch of toothy jumping beans! Reminded me of this video (except they were biting and trying to crawl up my sleeve lol) Fracas was tuckered out when I put him up, only reason I got those pics lol haven't been able to get any today! I haven't switched a kit before, I'm all in soupie mode haha wish I'd read that post this morning before I made some. Oh well, won't hurt him lol I have plenty of meat. Approx 500# of raw, as I feed my dogs and cat raw. Been a raw feeder for a long time, but Fracas will only be the 5th ferret I've switched, and the youngest. Amok was the youngest until now lol I wish I had video of his first time drinking out of the water bowl, he sort of just dunked his whole head into the bowl and then fell backwards in surprise, sneezing lol

I introduced Fracas and Amok the other day, they hit it off immediately. Strict supervision, of course, but after the usual sniffing they started playing. Fracas was a bit feisty and at one point became obsessed with biting Amok's tail, he got it and looked like he bit him pretty hard, Amok dealt with it like you'd expect, but did not get carried away. He grabbed Fracas by the scruff and held him until Fracas let go of his tail and vocalized, then they resumed playing. Fracas did not go for his tail again, and they did not have any real squabbles. Normal ferret play. Best buds. They aren't together 100% yet, just because Fracas is such a tiny thing and if I wasn't home or was asleep and something happened, Amok could kill him. But I put them together, supervised - Amok in Fracas' cage and vice versa, after play times for an hour or two. Here are some adorable pics of them. Snuggle time with Fracas, he is just as cuddly and sweet as Amok is (when he's tired lol) I love little weasel feet Go away, I'm sleeping. Good size reference here, Amok's foot next to Fracas' head lol Amok, lol Fracas says Amok makes a great pillow Synchronized sleeping
