Okay, I am curious about something.... Would this product work? And is necessary? I really don't mind ferret smell, I am only curious. BUT it does seem like it would be a plus if it could curb bad breath, gas, and stool/urine ordor. Link is below. www.craftycreatures.com/forferretsonly/health/superjuice.html

Prebiotics, probiotics.....ever noticed the trend. They're the whole "new" trend. The only type that actually work are the "live". It has a very short shelf life, must be refrigerated. I can put any bacteria in a bottle and call it a pre or pro biotic but I'll have killed it if I processed it. A lot of what is offered is nothing more than a way to separate your money from your wallet. If your ferret is fed a proper diet this is totally unnecessary. If your ferret is ill and requires dietary assistance then cooking their food becomes necessary. The body is an amazing thing, if fed properly, there is no need for all these "extra" supplements. ciao

Unless I'm mistaken, prebiotics are plant matter that are used to feed the bacteria already in the digestive system. It would be different than probiotics like the active cultures in yogurt. I can imagine it could be a double edged sword though because if a bacteria overgrowth occurred (ferret was sick or ate bad food), couldn't this put it into overdrive?
