Meet Casper (formerly known as Cloud)
and Leon
Nicole from Jeremy's Boggle was kind enough to meet us halfway between her home and ours, so we picked these little guys up on Friday.
The poor guys had a couple of stressful days, with a vehicle breakdown, vet visit, shots, loooonnnngg road trip, new family. The plan was to get them home, give them some playtime, let them sniff noses with Slinkee and Minnie, and keep them in a separate cage at least overnight so they would have time to adjust to their new home without being stressed by Slinkee and Minnie. Plans changed as soon as we walked in the door. Slinks and Minnie met us at the door and followed us to the hall. Slinkee jumped the gate, Minnie dug under the gate, and they instantly became one big happy family. Minnie showed the new guys all the places they're not allowed to be. Slinkee took them to the food dish and watched them eat. Minnie showed them where the toy baskets are. Slinkee showed them the best beds. Minnie took them to the litter boxes and demonstrated how NOT to use them by pooping right in front of the boxes. (headwall) After a couple of hours of craziness, they all climbed into the cage and settled down for the night... 4 ferrets in a one-ferret bed. I was so worried that they would be "2" and "2" instead of "4", but I worried for nothing. Everyone loves everyone else and they don't care who they play or sleep with. Well, Minnie might prefer to sleep with Leon because she likes his big squishy tummy, lol!
Leon is a chunky hefty guy who loves to play. He's enjoyed exploring every nook and cranny in the rooms he's been allowed so far, but once he's done his 'perimeter check' he's a wild man! Jumping, war dancing, doing somersaults, playing king of the mountain... he's very non-stop until he stops. Then he just crashes wherever he happens to be. I've found him sleeping in the bean box, under the couch cushions, in a boot. (giggle) And Saturday night, he crashed on me!
Casper seems to be a 'people ferret'. He does his explorations, then comes back to me or my husband for playtime. He grabbed my pant leg yesterday while I was cleaning and rode around on my foot for 10 minutes, lol. He gives good kisses, but hasn't cuddled with me yet.
We're all in love with these guys. I have a bunch more pictures to upload later.
