My ferrets like to open cabinets. I have put stuff in front of them, child locks and as of lately, I have put duct tape on the cabinets.
Charlie is too smart for me and discovered how to take the duct tape off. I am renting so I can't do anything permanent.
Can anyone give me some tips or ideas on how to prevent them from going in cabinets?

My ferrets also don't know how to get out. At my old house, they would go into the drawer. I gave in and cleaned it all out and gave it to them . I mostly want a solution so they don't go under the sink cabinet. I don't care so much of the other cabinets. I may try the magnetic ones. Lucy can fit through the gap of the child locks so I can't use those. Thank you for your help.

A small washer glued to the inside of the door and then a Neodymium magnet glued on the door jam side. When you leave you should be able to to remove the magnets with a razor or thin hacksaw blade. Just leave the glued washers behind, no one will notice.

Yeah, what I described is basically a super-strong version of what msav posted. Just a DIY version.

Hahahaha. That looked like the old Jaffa and Booboo act. Boo (also a sandy) wasn't smart enough to get into trouble on his own, but if he saw Jaffa or someone else being bad, he'd be there taking notes and try it himself later.

Thank you bitbyter and msav. I hope we can do that. It is much cheaper than the child proofing ones and I could put them on all cabinets instead of one. Charlie and Lucy are pretty stubborn. I went under the sink and found some toys and put new duct tape until I get the material.

A low tech solution is to get a gallon jug and fill it with water or something too heavy for them to move, and put one of those in front of each door.
