Hello I feed my babies the 1 oz raw medallions every 12 hours. So in total they are each getting 2 ounces of raw a day.
Nobody is underweight I am just worried I am not feeding them enough. I also want to make sure I am not leaving it out too long. My vet was the one that said it was safe to leave it out for that long.
I plan to sign up for the mentoring program once I get my 2 new boys off of their kibble completely. They are now eating the raw soup on their own.
My question is how much should each baby get? How long can I leave the food out?

Ehhhhh I wouldn't leave the medallions out that long personally. They are ground up so more surface area for bacteria to grow, and plus I think on the package it says you should throw anything that has been uneaten away after 15-20minutes. (I feed them to Rolo & Twiggy.)

I would look at only leaving commercial grinds out for no longer than 8 hrs but that's me. A male ferret over the age of a year should be eating about 3 oz of food a day....2 oz between 2 ferrets per day is not near enough. You won't even cover a single sprite's need. If these ferrets are "babies" then they should be eating closer to 6 oz each. No, they're not getting anywhere near enough per day if you're feeding 2 oz for 2 ferrets per day ciao

I call all my pets my babies. My youngest ferret is 2 in late December.
To clarify each of my ferrets get their own 2 ounces per day. Not 2 oz total shared.
Jezebelle is 6 and weighs 2 lbs. She gets a total of 2oz of the raw a day.
Jujubee is 5 and weighs 2.8 lbs. She also gets 2oz raw of her own a day
Jameson is almost 2 and weights 5.4 lbs. He gets his own 2oz of commercial raw a day.
Weasel Knievel is around 3 and weighs 2 lbs. He is transitioning and eating about half an oz of raw commercial a day. He also has Zupreem kibble until he transitions.
Ferret Bueller is also is around 3 and weighs 2 lbs. He is transitioning and eating about half an oz of raw commercial a day. He also has Zupreem kibble until he transitions.
I will increase the boys food to 3 oz and will remove any left overs quickly. (there are not usually leftovers)
How many ounces should a female over 1 eat?
