I think of Heather as a Ferret Whisperer. She watched the video and saw signs of depression. She also stressed the importance of getting food into Trixie. Both very important points. I don't know if it's possible or if you would entertain the thought, but is there any chance that her two little friends could come home with you? Four isn't that much more work or trouble than two, especially if everyone is Happy. (dance) Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to, I live alone and work full time so I know that there's no way I could give 4 different animals the amount of attention they all deserve.

Knowing your limits in regards to ferret numbers is a good thing . It sounds like your little one might actually be turning a corner. Another thing you might try for her is some RR (Bach's rescue remedy). I'm never without it. You put about 5 drops in her water or you can rub it on her feet and ears (just a drop) I know it sounds hokey but it really works, especially with case of shelter shock or death of a partner. Keep handling her a lot and making sure she's doing the eating and not her partner. A great bonding exercise is getting some babyfood (as Nancy suggested) and hand feeding her. I suggest this for a couple of reasons. It's a bonding exercise for you and your new wee one, she learns that it's a treat and she learns how to eat while in your arms. All these things will work to your benefit if she's ever ill. Trying to teach a sick ferret who already doesn't want to eat how to eat a new food is a royal pain (headwall) Good luck. Please keep us posted ciao

Heather - thank you! I did get her to take to the baby food, and I have confirmed she's been eating on her own accord. Her poop is no longer green and mostly normal consistency, although the most recent was a little seedy looking. Last night definitely was a turning point though, I woke up to them making noise and she was up on the top level playing in the ball pit! I had them in the playpen this morning and when Dom started wrestling with her, she fought back and he ran! She was running around and playing with the balls in there also. Now I have her in my room and she's actually exploring and playing with whatever she finds. Before she was just finding a place to lay, usually under the bed. I'm so happy she's showing this improvement!! I did take a pic of her playing in the ball pit: I was just so happy to see it happening
