No, that's 0.8, so eight tenths of an ounce, which is much more reasonable. And still quite a lot for a first soup meal

I see. Sorry for scarin ya lol So I've just started mixing the raw in with ground kibble and they eat that more willingly! Sorry, I know it's not the way you prefer but I just wanted them to eat it on their own which they do. But still, when Coco eats he only eats literally a few licks and bites and he is done. Chanel though will try and eat and stash, and eat some more. As soon as I see him trying to stash the food, I put it away and then he's back sniffing around and staring at me wanting more food!

No, it's OK to do the kibble for now... whatever works to get them going. Coco first.. how much kibble does he normally eat? With the kibble, does he stand at the dish and eat his fill or is he a grazer? Are you spoon-feeding or finger-feeding the soup, or trying to get him to eat it from the dish? Chanel... Eat and stash.. sounds just like a ferret, lol. But what is he stashing? Soup by nature is sort of un-stashable. Are there chunks in it? How are you feeding him, dish, spoon, finger?

Sorry, Gina. This is what I started doing. I ground up their kibble with some water until it's thick and mushy. I then take a spoonful of that and I mix it with one or two soup ice cubes. If it's still too thick, I add some warm water to it until it's moist. It's not really soup consistence, it's chunky. Should I add a lot more water so they're just drinking it? I'll catch Coco eating dry kibble, and he doesn't try and stash it. He just stands there and eats however much he wants at a time. I finger-feed him the soup and slowly lead his nose into the dish Chanel will dive right into the dish and start licking. Hehe.

You are doing exactly right. If they're eating the chunky consistency, just leave it chunky and try slivering up some chicken (2 or 3 slivers) to toss in it. Maybe they won't notice it's slivers and they'll go ahead and eat them.

Hello I wanted to give a little update. I haven't started the slivers yet but I will soon! This morning I fed them 2 1/2 heaping spoonfuls of raw mixed it with half a spoonful of ground kibble, AND THEY ATE IT UP! Both of them. They were like little piggies! Chanel was even snorting. (Is this normal? Lol... he's eating and he makes these snorting sounds.)I felt bad for them though because the soup was ice-cold... Oh, and Coco prefers to eat from my fingers. He tried to gnaw on my finger... should I be scared? I also tried feeding them from a plate yesterday and Chanel decides to drag the whole thing under the bed! So I have one of those little lock-crock bowls in their cage but Coco will not eat from it. Any suggestions? I hope you are having a good weekend, Gina!

Way to go! They're learning to like it. Snorting may mean that he's trying to eat too fast, lol. Just be aware that if he eats too TOO fast, he could throw up afterwards. He should slow down once he gets something to chew. If he's trying to stash his whole dish, he's loving that food, so push him along. Keep cutting back the amount of kibble and start some slivers. Coco, little stubborn one, WILL eat out of a bowl eventually, I promise. Since he's only wanting to eat from your finger, you'll need to work with him a little extra. What you'll need to do is keep moving your finger closer to the dish. So each bite you give him, you'll lower your finger a TINY bit closer to the dish. It may take a few days, and you may end up having to sit there with your finger in the dish, but eventually he'll make the connection between yummy food and dish-that-mom-has-her-finger-in, lol. I wouldn't worry about him eating you though. It just may mean that he wants something to chew on too. They are still getting kibble as well as the soup, correct? I need you to weigh their soup before and after they eat so we know how much soup they are eating per day. We're gonna get them off that kibble completely soon!

Hello, hello. Sorry for not replying sooner. So I've cut back on kibble and water added to the raw. (I only add literally a sprinkle of ground kibble) So the soup is definitely now light pink, chunky with slivers. Chanel eats it fairly well, but I feel like the chicken is getting boring for him Haha. He doesn't seem that interested in it anymore. I thought Coco liked the soup but I was wrong. Without more of the ground kibble added to it, he won't eat it much. It still feels like Day 1 with him rejecting my finger and shaking his head. I will carefully watch him though to see if he eats from the bowl~ I put about 2 1/2 ounces of raw in their bowl and there's still some left in the bowl when they finish. I leave that in the bowl and let them finish it off over the next few hours. As for weights, Chanel is: 2 pounds 3oz And Coco is 2 pounds 2oz

Chanel just pooped after eating raw the whole day. It is very dark and has tiny seeds in it and small.

I know you had trouble getting their weights before, but you had them at 1 lb, 7-8 oz. If that was anywhere close to accurate, they've gained several ounces. 2 1/2 ounces once a day, or twice a day? Once they're eating a good 3 oz EACH per day, we can get rid of the kibble. So stubborn Coco... since Chanel is eating on his own, when you fix their soup, separate it and add extra kibble powder to Coco's. Just be persistent. If you want to mix things up a little, you can make their next batch of soup from a different protein.

Chanel's poop sounds fine. Funky poops are completely normal. Dark because of the organ in the soup, seedy from undigested fats (his body has to adjust to the new food), small because that's what raw poops are - small. Did he not have any kibble today?
