So Caillou had a blockage scare last night and from 7:30pm to 12:30am did blockage protocol with him (1 tbsp canned pumpkin then one hour later 1 tsp vaseline and alternating hourly) and he didn't seem to have any denim in his poops and he's acting fine now. He started to worry me because I didn't think he pooped for several hours then he passed this at 6:00pm today- which looks like his usual poops. But, Juliet has been having very small poops for the past day or two, I noticed them but didn't even think about it really, but this is her latest one at around 5:30pm today and I put a penny beside it for comparison (FYI I threw that penny away..LOL) They haven't been like this before I don't think.. she's acting fine, actually since starting 1mg pediapred she's been feeling quite a bit better, more active and I think more hungry too, she ate 3 oz yesterday I think. Juliet is 6yrs old, has adrenal disease (currently trying to get a deslorelin, vet office in AL supposed to be calling for info to ship soon) and she has insulinoma, and she is blind from recently developed cataracts and is deaf also. She's been on raw for 7 wks, eating soup and some slivers. Tagging Heather Sherry and bitbyter Should I be worried about her poops being so small? I don't think it's supposed to be like that but I'm not sure.

Looks a little loose but partial blockage poops normally look like normal poops but about a quarter the diameter. Think half the diameter of a pencil.

He's acting normal and eating normal, I think he's alright but I'm watching him closely. What about Juliet's tiny poop? She's freaking me out with that.

Has he had any large, orange, pumpkiny type poops yet? As for Juliet I'd not worry.

He did have a big pumpkin poop a few hours after starting the protocol, but I only did it from 7:30pm to 12:30am. He hasn't been pooping a lot since starting the switch (7weeks), like Juliet goes ever 3-4 hours at least and Caillou is more like 5+ hours or so. But he's acting fine and it's been 2 days, he's energetic and eating like there is no tomorrow, and he is getting a stronger gingivitis antibiotic that we are picking up this evening when we take our dog for his re-check (corneal ulcer).
Phew about Juliet, I was panicking a little.

They poop a LOT less on raw than they do on kibble. It is one of the biggest adjustments a Ferrant has to make. Kibble ferrants are trained to panic at any poop changes. This is because the ferret is only eating one thing and the poop should always look the same. With Raw, they eat a variety of stuff and their digestive systems have to adjust to raw from kibble. This can produce a wide range of poop types and colours. Also, since they are digesting pretty much everything you are feeding them (no fillers or undigestables like in kibble), their poops are much smaller. docs.google.com/document/d/16e-Ir6cjH9Kstg96axaEdoER9nWc9W5riVmD39m-zhk/edit?usp=sharing

Yeah I fed kibble for like 3 years, I'm used to the same poops.. poop is a given on this site, lol. I'll keep watching Caillou, I think he's just fine but you never know. And I'm assuming the 4x as much pee as before is also normal? Assumed it was from all the water in their diet now.

Yes, that is normal as long as the urine is clear-ish (not as yellow as it was when they were on kibble) you are good.

Yes, there will be considerably more urine now that they're on raw and soupy too ciao

Okay, their urine isn't clear, I think it may be lighter than before though. I never paid too much attention to pee, just poop.
