Well, they all are thrill-seeking, really, aren't they? But Maisie just managed to knock a bunch of stuff, including herself, off my night table. I caught her mid-fall, in an unnatural position (by the middle upside down, she was in a U shape). I put her down on the bed, expecting her to be shaken, but she started dancing like crazy, like this was the greatest thing ever. I hope she doesn't start flinging herself off things, expecting me to catch her...

It's funny (almost) how clumsy they are. I expected my Ponce to be agile like a cat, he wasn't.
My two boys will climb up on the back of the couch and Launch themselves toward the front door or catch the coat rack and hang on the coats.
When Mika was a baby, she was always launching herself off of things, towards me and I would scramble to catch her.
Maisie may be a Pusher Off'er. Ponce would push anything and everything off every surface. He truly believed that surfaces should be empty. He particularly loved to push Paul's after work cocktail off the table. Then Ponce would lean over and look down at the mess and laugh, heheheheh.

This just makes me think of pepper and bonnie pepper as a kit knocked everything off tables including my husband's drink poor laptop it's had so many drinks split on it because of her still works though lol. I call bonnie my cliff hanger I have to move the night stands away from the bed she launches herself on them. So I moved it away and her solution jump further it was about 4 ft away from the bed I watch her position herself thinking she's just going to fall off the bed nope she went for it just hanging there holding on to the edge trying to pull her butt up. I'm just standing there shaking my head and I get the stink eye like it's my fault.

I am very glad none of mine are jumpers, that just scare me. I have however found Ruby on top of the FN cage on several occasions. I always shudder to think how she would get down if I hadn't discovered her. Probably flying ferret. I can see that from her.

Bonnie does that but shes scary smart getting down. I came in the room with her biting the bar sliding down grabbing the parallel bar then biting the one under it and repeat. I do not approve because I'm afraid it will damage her teeth.

They usually try to get down on the side that is beside the wall. because they use the wall as an additional support. But they go head first, and it is a very dangerous process.

My little sprite is extremely cautious. she slowly will back down off the bed. The only time I have seen her go front first is when she is holding a stuffed animal and she always lands on it to break her fall.
I remember Hammie when he was young. He swung from the cords on the mini-blinds and landed on the shelf that I though was inaccessible to him. He was my crazy thrill seeking ferret. Hammie also would get on the kitchen counter by climbing onto the dining room chairs and getting on the backs of the chair and leaping to the kitchen counter.
None of my current 5 are jumpers or climbers.

Harry does this all free time. He jumps from the bed or onto a computer desk chair and then leaps 2+ feet to get to the desk itself and start knocking things over. Or he will scale the ferret nation cage.
Brooklyn sees Harry do this and tries to do it herself but it fails since he has stubby legs compared to him. Now she will usually jump on me and use me as a quick bridge to get over to a desk if I walk by.

I always shudder to think how she would get down if I hadn't discovered her. Probably flying ferret. I can see that from her. Serenity does this, all the time. Climbs up to the top of the FN cage. Then its like, she has absolutely no idea what to do once shes up there. Fortunately the cage is right next to my desk and neither of them are allowed out of the cage unless we're in the room with them; so I know, can hear, when shes climbing up the cage. I've only seen her twice attempted to climb back down... shes attempted to scoot her butt backwards over the edge between the cage and the wall. I've managed to grab her on both occasions before she get anything more then her butt lowered down... She also loves to push things off of surfaces, and is a wild flinger, in that she will excitedly fling herself off something if she is hyper enough and starts wardance around like a flopping fish out of water! I don't let her climb up onto anything that she can push anything off from though.

Awesome stories all @poncesmom - Maisie isn't an intentional Pusher-Offer, more like an accidental Knocker-Over! Pusher Offers sound adorable, but I guess it's just as well that I can let her explore table surfaces without breakage! Well, intentional breakage. @fuzzbuttlove - oh, the cliff hanger is so hilarious and adorable. Maisie doesn't get to do it very often because I usually get to her before she jumps. I can just imagine Bonnie saying, "A little help here?" And holy cr@p, holding the FN bars between her teeth and sliding down is amazing! I would love to see a video of that (hint hint) Compared to most of your ferrets, I don't think mine is that smart! Or perhaps just not that motivated. She's pretty laid back and mellow. You know, for a ferret.
