This is ferret related, i promise, just bare with me, also i wasn't really sure where to post this so im sorry if its in the wrong place.
I've been married to my husband now for over two years, and naturally for the last two years we've been fending off questions from our family and friends about when we are going to start a family. Its something which has plagued me for a long time, i've wanted children for as long as i can remember and we're finally at a point where we have started to seriously think about it and what plans we have to make and put into place before we can start trying. Mostly, moving to a different city, a bigger house and new jobs etc. All this hopefully within the next year or so.
Now, when ever i have approached this topic with my any close relation, the topic always (and i mean always) comes to touch upon my four fuzzies with things such as '...so are you planning on re homing them?', '...you cant possibly keep ferrets and a baby in the same house...', '...they'll have to be moved outside...' I have no intention of re homing my furry babies, or keeping them outdoors; they've lived indoors the entire time they've lived with me, mostly because i have fear of them being stolen. But i am worried about it. I'm worried that the stress of moving to a new place, a new house, and a baby too will be too much for them, and i'm worried they wont get the attention that they are used too now and im worried that it might prove to be too much for me too. I feel stupid for even thinking about it really, there must be people out there who have ferrets and babies. People have babies with cats and dogs for pets, why must ferrets be any different? I guess im looking for someone to tell me that it is possible to have both in your life at the same time, that my family is crazy for thinking its impossible and that i'm just over thinking things. Any advice would be welcome, from any perspective, but mostly im looking for ways of making this work for me, my husband and for my fuzzies.
