Hi wise ferrents! I have a transitioning question. Knowing my four fuzziness are finicky eaters and need tons of patience and encouragement I started my own soupie plan. Now I'm wondering if I was brilliantly dumb about this. First I have everything needed for switching to raw. I am also; keeping journal, weighing, watching poop, and recording amounts eaten.
Backgorund- started with pulverized wysong epigen 90 and water 8 days ago. By day two all were at least tasting and by day 3 they were meeting me at the gate waitng for their soup. Consummation has resulted in soft Mushie poop but no other adverse reaction.
Day 4 - 2 oz of kibble mash plus I started adding freeze dried rabbit. About 1/4 oz of freeze dried to 2 oz of kibble. Almost all consumed.
Day 5 - 2oz of kibble I added rabbit and chicken. 1/4 oz each, all consumed.
Day 6- 2 oz of kibble I added 1/2 oz rabbit and chicken, and liver. Sliver of liver... They thought that addition rather dumb on my part. Won't try that again for a few days. More than half consumed.
Day 7 - 2 oz total weight of rabbit, chicken, lamb, and pulverized egg powder with 1 oz of kibble. Mostly all consumed.
Day 8 - same as day 7 but I also added three pellets of raw rabbit. Consumed half but not with the usual enthusiasm.
here comes my question. During all this I have been keeping dried kibble in cage, because I don't think they are, as yet, eating a sustainable amount. I have been withholding kibble for a few hour before and after eating kibble raw.
At this point should I take kibble out of the cage or continue the slow transition with kibble (they are eating 3-4 oz of dried kibble daily) until they are eating raw, half raw or what? I don't want to cause a bacterial bloom that sets me back a week.
What say yee O'wise ones' ... Oh and I am apply for the mentoring program.
thanks ahead of time.
