So far I can only get my hands on chicken and beef livers and chicken hearts. So only one organ, what organs do ferrets have to have? So I can work on getting those first.
I'm looking everywhere, but there is a law around here and grocery stores can't sell anything but liver and I'm not having luck locally so far. I still have a few places left to ask, hopefully I'll get lucky and find somewhere.

Liver is a must, and you should be able to at least find beef or pork kidney in the freezer section for meats. Check for liver, spleen, brain, lung, thymus, pancreas, kidney, etc. Any part of the body that secretes.

Okay I'll look again. How long can they go with only having the liver organ? Today is their first day with just soupy and no kibble.
If I have to I can order it, I just dont know how long I have to find it. Still haven't checked the farmers market and I've been told they'll have it. But I don't want to wait too long and them get sick.

A few months, so no rush Liver is the most important(besides heart which is a muscle meat).

Also, heart is not considered an organ for the purposes of the frankenprey menu. It is a required muscle meat. This means that heart can replace a muscle meat on the menu if you are desperate but it cannot replace organs on the menu.

Look for an Asian market in a nearby county. There laws may be different. Do some calling around and see what they have to offer. I find brains in the freezer section of my local grocery store. We also hit up the Farmers market in Nashville and talked to Farmers. They are happy to provide organs. After butchering chickens and such, most farmers just throw the organs away.

Okay I can go a county over about 45 mins away, I'll call them and see if I can get some. I didn't think about a different county.
Thanks!

Nashville is about 7 hours from me, but if I'm ever up there I would hit up those markets. I'm sure they'd be full of dead animal meats.. hehe

The Nashville farmers market is fun. Its only really open on the weekends, though.
We have some property over on your side of the state. It's on English Mountain. We thought about moving there, but its still so undeveloped. Paul is a heart patient and we needed quick access to hospitals. Ambulances don't climb those mountains too fast.

Is that in Sevierville? That's around 1 hour from me. I'm beside Bristol, about 10 minutes from the racetrack. I get what you mean, I live on the side of a mountain and man was it tough the last time the ambulance was here, our driveway is impossible. But I do love our little country town I just found out there are farmers markets downtown from where I live, I'll have to start calling around. Surely in the city of hillbillies where I'm at there will be the insides of animals for sale.. haha
