Hi folks Just on for a bit of advice I found that Neeps has a cut or graze on his back this morning. Its between near his left front shoulder. It had a bit of dried blood on the surrounding fur- at first I thought it was a dirty mark. It is not large only about 1cm long and 0.5 cm wide I cleaned it with some sterile saline solution and it only looks like a surface wound. I have a feeling they were playing a bit rough last nice in their hutch they had made more mess than usual and I heard them making a racket last night when I went to bed my room is upstairs at the front of the house and they are out the back.
Is there any thing else I can put on the wound to promote healing and to keep it clean? Neeps does have a habit of rolling in the litter tray whether it is clean or not Or should I just clean it once or twice a day with clean saline solution?
Thanks in advance from Neeps & Ninjagoth

I'd keep an eye on it and keep it clean if it only looks like a surface wound. I would however check their hutch and make sure there are no sharp bits (like a wire sticking out) that could have caused the injury too. Hope it heals quickly and Neeps is soon all better

Ferrets heal fairly quickly especially around the scruff area. If you have concerns you can always apply some sudocreme to the wound. It prevents further damage in play (tastes terrible) and will promote healing. ciao

I had a good look at their hutch and there is nothing sharp or loose. Thankfully the wire is embedded is the doors between a wooden frame and every thing else is well finished off and secure - it was one of the reasons I went for this particular one. None of their toys or tubes have sharp edges - so I have a feeling it was rough play. Keeping it clean daily with saline and I added Sudocreme - great stuff
