Is there a way to tell for sure whether or not she is deaf?

Seeing if they react to noises when they don't see you making them is the only way I'm aware of. I'm still not entirely sure my little boy isn't at least partially deaf.

You can try and have someone hold her and use a squeaky toy and see if she turns toward it. The idea is to keep her from seeing you or the toy. I found by closely observing you will start to see things....high startle reflex, inappropriate noises. The thing is that they've lived with this all their lives, she will feel you coming through vibrations, even by scent. I found the only benefit from knowing was that they cannot hear you call their names, so for a change they really can't hear you call them Congratulations on your beautiful little girl . If you want you can always post a tooth pic and we can try and age your little girlie to see if what you were told was close ciao

Well we are 99% sure she is deaf. Did the squeaky test. Also, I posted some pics of her teeth over in the aging by teeth thread. She sure is a sweetie. A

She is so cute! I'm glad you're getting her out of there, she'll be much happier with you. And I love love love blazed ferrets, I think they're the cutest. And now it's official, I'm obsessed, if I don't get a kit soon I'll go insane. I have severe ferret fever If you'll excuse me, I'll be on craigslist. hehe..
