Th1s morn1ng, 1 was read1ng Mal1nds thread about her ne1ghbor and her escap1ng ferrets. 1 real1zed that 1 had not seen Roamy yet. Paul and 1 searched the house and we both had the s1nk1ng feel1ng, that Roamy wasn't 1n the house. So, 1 grabbed the squeaky toy and set out to search outs1de. We l1ve on a rav1ne, surrounded by trees and h1lls and alot of w1ld creatures. ! walked around the house, yell1ng Roamy and squeak1ng the squeaker. Happ1ly, 1 saw a l1ttle masked face, pop up, out of the Groundhog's den. We walked over to h1m, call1ng h1m gently and he was terr1bly fr1ghtened and h1d 1n the hole. We sat down and called h1m, and he came to us. Roamy had spent the n1ght outs1de. We aren't sure when he got out, Paul went outs1de once to get someth1ng from the car and he must have sl1pped out then. Happ1ly, our story has a happy end1ng. Jul1et was bes1de herself, groom1ng and k1ss1ng h1m, scold1ng h1m, all the wh1le. He went to h1s bowl and had a long dr1nk and then ate Alot of Breakfast. Then 1 bathed h1m, fleas and t1cks, you know. 1 d1dn't f1nd any, thank goodness. Paul and 1 are a wreck and Roamy 1s now tucked 1nto bed, w1th h1s Jul1et bes1de h1m.

Oh no! How horrid for you, and poor Roamy. I'm so glad you found him and that he's fine. That was pretty smart of him, holing up in the groundhog's den :-)

Oh my! Poor Roamy! AND Juliet! ANNNND Mommy! I am so glad it has a happy ending. It is heart breaking to loose one. You always hope, but you hate not knowing what happened to your loves. Still tear up thinking about my Jasper. I like to think that he is old and warm in someones arms as we speak.

Oh my....every ferrants worst nightmare. Thank goodness you found him. Give the happy wanderer a big hug and tell him he's not a black footed ferret and ground hogs are not on his diet ciao

That must have been terrifying! Although once I knew you found him and he was safe the idea of him sticking his little face out of the groundhog den got me smiling I also love the idea of little Juliet, loving and scolding him at the same time. Poor guy must of been so relieved.

Oh nooooo!!!! I am so glad you didn't post before you found him.. I would have been worried sick! I'd have been making the drive over to help you hunt! I'm squeezing my kids right now and warning them that they better NEVER do that to me. Your poor heart, and nerves. I know how scary that must have been. Is he still miffed at you for leaving him? (He was the one, wasn't he?) I hope his little adventure scared him enough that he won't do that again! Hugs and kisses from me and the gang Slinkee says to tell Roamy "Don't not nebber scawe yooz mommee wike dat adain. Her wubs yoo tooo much and her wood cwy if yoo wuz wost forebber!"

Roamy was exhausted yesterday, and slept upsta1rs, all day. Usually around 5:30, he comes to us and beg1ns ask1ng to go for a walk. That cons1sts of h1s cuddl1ng w1th me, as a br1be and then he gets up on the back of the couch and launches h1mself towards the front door. 1f that doesn't work, he launches h1mself onto the coats on the coat rack and hangs there. Then he goes to Paul and begs, and 1f that doesn't work, he pulls on the leashes, hang1ng on the coat rack. Poor l1ttle guy hasn't been near the front door yet.

Of course, I am glad he's safe too. Being gone that long without even you knowing it could have had a sad ending, or maybe worse, no ending. I wonder why he doesn't want to go out? Heck, when Alice and Poppy used to get out, they were all, "What were you worried about? We know where we live." lol. Ferret-proofin this here mo-bile home for them was a real challenge.

LOL, we had better be careful w1th the names, we choose. My next ferret w1ll be named: He/She who l1ves a long and healthy l1fe and eats very well, and g1ves me lot's of snuggles and k1sses, or Hswlalahlaevwagmlosak, for short. (bounce)
