(Sorry if this is the wrong section for this, I didn't know where to post it)
Hi, so I have a little girl fert, Juliet, she is around 4 years old, maybe older, I'm not too sure. Juliet has adrenal disease (diagnosed in February or March of this year I think) if it matters, and she is also deaf, and a few weeks ago I noticed her eye looked cloudy, it didn't seem to bother her, it didn't drain, she didn't squint or mess with it, so I decided to wait and see if it got worse. I think it looked like it got worse over time, and actually just this morning it looks better, which is weird, but anyways, I've been told by many people that she is probably going blind, and I do plan on taking her to the vet next week to have him look at it, but I thought for now I would ask some of you if you know any ways I can sort of test to see if she can't see, or at least can barely see, in that on eye. It is the right one that's affected.
Today I've noticed she keeps turning her head and looking up a lot. I've been waving my hand over the eye sort of but usually she doesn't care anyway. Thought I'd see if any of you have any ideas as to what I could do, it's not a big deal that I know right now, just thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks.

The vet has to do an eye check and you can usually tell just by observation. As you described, turning their heads to look at things from different angles is a big give away as to whether they have partial vision or no vision in that eye. I'm pretty certain Socks's eye has gotten to the point where she has very little vision left. My vet said it was unlikely she had any vision in it but from observation I think she can see generalized movement.

If I remember I'll see if I can post a picture. You can see how her eye is cloudy in certain light.

Aw well thank you, she is by far the sweetest ferret I have ever had the pleasure of owning. She never does anything wrong, never misses the litterbox, never chews, bites, gets into anything, she's precious Yours look adorable also!

Unfortunately, there appears to be a cloud on both eyes but it's probably from the camera and is a reflection. It does appear to be reflecting oddly in the left eye (when you look at the pic)but again....so hard to see. If there is a flash reflection a cataract will reflect blue not red, I don't know if that helps you or not ciao
