Yep, those amounts are fine unless their intake changes drastically. You have to remember that raw feeding is not an exact science. We get as close as we can, and trust that we're doing the best we can. Think about the wild ferrets...they don't have little scales out there to weigh their food on, and I guarantee that they're not going to pass up some yummy heart or liver because they've already eaten their quota for that week. Even if they're eating whole prey, the size of organs/hearts in 2 animals of the same size and same species can vary tremendously. I have a hunter friend who killed a bunch of turkeys last year. He brought me all of their hearts. These turkeys were all about the same size and age, but their hearts ranged in size from golf ball size to softball size. So don't stress over it too much. Give them their 1.5 meals of each and try not to worry about it. (Easier said than done, I know.) Thank you Gina! (You could sense my worry) I'm just so excited that they are doing so well, I don't want to make any mistakes. But, like you said, I need to remember how they would be in the wild - and perhaps remind them of what the wild life could be like when those warm cozy blankets get thrown in the litter box... after an organ meal! (smh) hehe, dem babies!

I'm sorry that it took me so long to get back to you. Yesterday, we took the day off and went ferret shopping and then treated ourselves to a nice long lunch and a movie. It was snowing and just so beautiful. I'm a Florida girl and will probably never get over the thrill of seeing snow. Your menu looks excellent. Nice job. I'm glad that I had Gina check the math. I had figured it backwards, with the opposite number of girls and boys, and then didn't correct it. Numbers and I just don't get along. Gina is a great teacher and I love how she makes everything so easy and clear to understand. Teaching is a true gift. I'm going to forward your menu to Heather. We should hear back in the next day or two, and then we'll get your status changed. :wave2: Oh no worries! I'm glad you were able to have such a great day! (I can't remember that last time I saw a movie in the theaters!) The snow is beautiful as long as I don't have to drive in it! We got close to 8 inches here and more expected tomorrow night! Thank you! I'm lucky to have you and Gina helping me so much! I hope once my status changes (so exciting!!!!!) I can still chat with you guys! Thanks again for all your support, encouragement, experiences, tips and tricks to get us where we are!!!

Congratulations :boing: You've graduated and you're ready to walk this path alone  . You have the foundation to help you feed your fuzzes in a more natural and healthy manner. Please remember that your learning never stops, and dietary needs change from ferret to ferret and throughout each of their lives. I would like you to be aware that though you now have the capability and the knowledge to create your little ones diets you are never alone and that your mentor (you need only pm) is always available to you. The list is also a very good resource and you should always be aware that it's available to answer any questions you may have either about diet or care. Good luck, in a few days Sherry will lock down this thread and place it in the archives and change your status but be aware that you can always look through it as a reference tool but you just will not be able to post to it. Your mentor will be in to congratulate you shortly :wave3:
ciao

Thank you @poncesmom! I'm so very excited! I started Re-reading my thread from the beginning and it really is amazing how far the babies have come in such a short amount of time! Ferrets really are amazing little beings and I'm so happy to have found this forum to learn how to make the best of their lives! Last night, and this morning, they had rabbit for the first time! Zekrom, Pepper, and Reshiram were loving it! Princess Zoey and 'wannabe princess' Elvyra waited until I wasn't looking to try it This year is off to a great start!
